Hardcore not real in POE

You state that people keep jumping on your posts telling you that its your fault and that you need to get better. Well, perhaps its time to start listening. Ive read through all of the posts here and while some are more direct and dont beat around the bush, pretty much all of them are giving you solid feedback and advice.

This game is not for the faint of heart, and thats what i love about it. Pretty much if you die before A3 Merciless, you can assume that you made a mistake. You shouldnt blame the game for this, but instead try to understand your mistake and learn from it.

And dont get me wrong, ive died plenty of times before A3M, and ive even had brief moments where i was like "WTF? REALLY GAME!? >:| " but then i take a step a back, learn from it, and move on.

And sometimes, very rarely, the stars just align and bring the wrath of Wraeclast down upon you. You can be fighting a huge group of monsters and all of a sudden everything just hits you at once, perhaps a crit or 2 and youre dead. This is RNG.

This is just something that is part of this game, you need to accept it going in.

hope this helps.

You see that the difference between 50% and 75% res actually makes you take double the dmg.

And the biggest fail of this game is fact that you must have resistances. Not may have to lower incoming damage. Must have and still being oneshoted.

This is equivalent to remove the resistance mechanics (or give cap everybody without gear) and remove 2 or 3 posible stats from every gear: from 6 to 3-4. You anyway spent 1-3 of them to max you resistances or you simply do not survive.

The way it is now is fine. Yes you do need to max out resistances (well you dont NEED to. If you have high enough ehp you will be fine. Someone with 5k hp and 75% res is the same as someone with 10khp and 50% res)

But the way it is now, you need 135% res to cap in merc. More for increased max res, or ele weakness maps.
But you have 11 items to do it on.

11 items is 66 stat rolls plus implicit rolls. at an average of 30 res a spot (which is a low roll to aim for), that is 15 spot to overcap your elemental res to 150%, leaving you with 41 spots left for other stats.

With max tier 2 rolls or resistance you are looking at only 9spots to max out your elemntal res, or 3 items.

3 items to max out your stats without even looking at the tree, jewels, or purity gems.

Yes you really do NEED it. But its very obtainable, you just need to gear for it.
The OP's concern is at least somewhat valid. He doesn't really know enough about the game and it's not like it warned him that he would be taking double damage instead of half when he was at 50% resistances.

math too hard
"Is there such a thing as an absolute, timeless enemy? There is no such thing, and never has been. And the reason
is that our enemies are human beings like us. They can only be our enemies in relative terms."

YOu don need 75% res, you can go 50% and yolo. At start of league i often run low maps with res lower than 75% you just have to play safer. While leveing I never have maxed res. In endgame you can also use purity/uniques/passive tree to get more than 75% res.

Removing items = removing diversity. Now you can choice if you want unique boots and rare gloves, IF gg would remove gloves spot you would have to use rare boots and no unituq item.

Just want to point out, you can't really "remove one-shots". Every character has different ehp totals and defenses, so it's not practical to do it by scaling damage. Sure, you could add some code that "if a character is at full ehp and a hit would kill them, set their HP to 1" -- but then you have issues with things like players rarely being at 100% full life (from degen if nothing else), and the fact that if a hit could 1-shot you, you're unlikely to remax before the next hit kills you.

If you don't like HC, why not play SC? It's not like there's anything wrong with it.

That said, even in SC, and high-quality leveling gear (read: mega-DPS), I would be wary of clearing Cruel with 2k ehp and <75% res.
