The Minions Shaper Summon Are Ridiculously Broken

So i decided to try shaper on my lvl 89 Occultist

The first fight was rigwald, a balanced fight where i was able to use range to my advantage and avoid most of his attacks. His behavior was a bit weird because when he would turn into a wolf sometimes he wouldnt chase me but.. other then that was a great boss battle

The second fight was with dominus, again balanced and a great fight.

The third boss was brutus, who i thought was the easiest since he was extremely slow

The final mini-boss i fought against was the crema boss. She was extremely annoying with her short cooldown teleport and self healing phases were annoying but i downed her too.

This is the first time i have ever fought shaper and had no previous experience with him

I manage to avoid and dodge almost all of his abilities, but then... he starts spawning minions..

HE STARTS SPAWNING MINIONS THAT ARE LIKE MINI BOSSES IN THEM SELVES!!!!!

THEY HAD SO MUCH HP!!!!

My Essence drain instantly kills Voll in dried lake, i didnt struggle with any of the t16 bosses before hand and they went down quite rapidly... but... the minions... the minions are so broken.


I was unable to continue the fight as i had to logout..

I came back in and asked for my friends to help me.
One of them had golems and went we went in we were in immunity phase but his golems werent.

His golems drew aggro and right when i whirling blades'd out i instantly died....



The fight is unbalanced as hell and the minions made it impossible for me to continue....


please do something... fix the shaper fight ffs....


I had about 16,000 ES and a ridiculous amount of gear, yet the hardest part of the fight was not any one of the bosses... it was the shaper spawned minions...

im done with essence and ill probably even quit poe if i continue to see literally zero balance and constant nerfs to builds such as giving bosses immunities...

Yes, they are. Shaper atm is a dps fest because of those ridiculous minions. YOu shouldn't do him without removing some defensive nodes for more damage.

Use decay(essence of delirium craft) too if you can. And... kite them until them die while shaper try to kill you, there's no much to do atm, i suffered with those minions too.

They really do deserve a nerf like that shit is stupid like I can do it flawlessly obviously because I'm icestorm so it's like 9999999 damage within the area everytime they step in but my bow char for some reason isn't doing that.

i had about 18k Dot Essence drain on a poison gem 6l setup

delirium dagger.. im considering uploading the video..

its just ridiculously unbalanced that you get spawned a bunch of minions which are as tanky as bosses and do fat dmg in a small arena where there are blobs of vortex doing dot and then shaper begins attacking while you deal with minions


This boss is gated behind being able to do good aoe dmg and single target

the boss fight was ridiculously simple and ez untill the minions... that just became so overwhelming

I had difficulty killing those minions with 42k dot ED, poison and delirium. The minions were literally the only thing i was having a huge problem. The third phase was the saddest thing i had in this game. Running around dodging 2 shapers and 15 minions. It isn't my idea of fun, sincerely. Anyway, it is doable if you kill them while dodging shaper. But is really the "sad phase" of the fight.

I mean, if i was wearing 1 ex items, it would be understandable. But my build is the same value as a BV pathfinder. Balance? I have no hope anymore, don't count on it, i don't.

Like I think the minion phase is actually the boss itself that's fucking funny because if zana dies YOU Die lol

The secret was i could have swapped to a 2nd weapon setup with 2 obliteration wands and tried to cause a chain explosion to get rid of those minions... but having to have a second weapon setup specifically for some damn small mobs? come on....

Like i_No says above me.. the minions are stronger and harder then shaper itself...

It is laughable that a build that can handle uber atziri just gets pranked on in shaper...

Its not even the dmg from shaper.. its the overwhelmingly small arena with constant blobs built up if you take a long time, with minions that can pop you and usually have flicker strike chasing you down to destroy you...



Idk what kind of "DPS Test" requires over 200,000 dps to deal with "ADDS"

The answer is its just not balanced..

If i were to make a specific build to take down shaper like pathfinder ci blade vortex id have no problems..

But i try to take it down on an Essence drainer with similar value in gear? NOPE

Either way i quit essence and if i dont see any changes to shaper/bosses/ immunities by the December league i will actually quit poe altogether.

Im tired of the devs of this game ruining everything and attempting to have a d-2 esque community and playstyle.

Chris Wilson literally said in his most recent interview that he'd rather there be 10-15 good builds then 100 good builds......

They actually want to kill build diversity and make it so theres little to no more customization. And thats not the game i signed up to play or support with my cash.

I will no longer be supporting GGG with any kind of cash or supporter packs untill they show they care about the community and game.

I am actually serious when I say the minions is the boss itself like I'm not joking on that if you can't do that phase you literally can not do the fight like at all like I find that kinda well stupid personally like I've done that on a game called Dark souls 1 aka Carpa demon mind you.

The minions themselves really do need to be toned down like I can't imagine doing this in like a burst build vs like my icestorm build vortex builds etc, That shit is stupid they really shouldn't be tanky like if you want to make them tanky at least make Zana not take 2042040240 dmg.
