So, how went the XP nerf for you?

Well at some point while extending the carrot, the rabbit will just tell you to fuck off :P

I am currently telling the game to fuck off and taking a break.
It's really sad because I really want to see what my build's highest potential is like. I'm lv90 atm, but it seems like I won't be getting to lv100 any time soon (maybe 1 year from now? if I haven't already moved on to another game).

You can probably get there in 2-3 weeks, depending on how much you play and what build you're running.

Yeah the nerf sucks for everyone, but what did you expect to happen after Steyox and Adrian posted those "2 days to 100" on reddit?

I would like not to have to expect knee-jerk reactions. If they really have issues with ultra-fast players, let them design an experience exhaustion system, rather than fucking everyone except the very few that will actually manage to find a way to go even quicker despite the penalty.
How fast are these players now? One week instead of two days? At the very most? How fast are other players now? 50 years instead of 10?
[Removed by Support] Enjoy being below 95 in first month of the league.

Never tried to reach lvl100 in the past. In the last challenge leagues i mostly got to lvl92-lvl94 on most of my characters.

This league i finished my 2 characters on lvl90 - the nerf was so bad i don't even want to try to get lvl95 as my total endgame anymore.

If the state of EXP stays the same for next league i might skip the next league completly and wait for the expansion next year. While i agree that getting to lvl 100 should be hard and an achievment i don't think i should be that hard to get to lvl 95.
Now it is all about clear speed and efficient layouts - the EXP nerf doesn't ajust this issue. It isn't that hard to level due to player powerlevel; it is just a mindless grind.
I finish at around level 50 now.
Well, I know most people would say that you actually don't need to go past level 90 to complete your build... well between level 100 and my current 90% there is a 50% increase to DPS from passives alone, so...

right now i'm struggling to level up at all, I die too much to stupid shit. Guess I'll have to play it extra cautious and do only white level 8-10 maps, I don't really die without any debuffing modifiers. Then I'll finish saving up for that Atziri's Disfavour and I'm in business.
I only really started playing PoE this league, so this is basically my only character. The other stuff on my account are toons I made when I checked out the game years ago.

From the perspective of a noob I would say that the exp curve doesn't feel too punish per se. Even doing 100+ maps to get a level up when I'm reaching the very last levels doesn't really bother me much. As others said, getting those levels isn't really crucial for building the character anyway. Those last few nodes are mostly just fluff.

What does bother me about the endgame is the extreme starvation of maps that starts to kick in. I had no problems supplying myself with maps for most of the time progressing through the atlas but now that I'm sitting at 124/126 in the atlas I somehow cannot sustain my maps. I alch everything T11+ and chisel everything T13+, but apparently that's not enough. Just today I burnt through about 15 maps, starting with a couple T14 and the only things that ever dropped were either lower tier reds or crap like white or low yellow tier. In the end I just ran out of red maps again. What sucks about that is the fact that running yellow maps when you are level 95-100 does really feel not rewarding at all, since those turn out to yield like 5m exp per hour even if you unleash the blitzkrieg on those maps. It's smashing totally harmless enemies with zero hp for zero reward just waiting for red maps to drop again.

tl;dr: The steep exp curve past 95 wouldn't bother me too much if having a basically complete atlas would at least allow me to self sustain red maps. I'm not asking for t15 and t16 drops only. But using the stuff that drops for myself I should at least be able to stay in the somewhat rewarding range without dropping back to baby content all the time.

Meh I suggestested a long time ago when the progression through Atlas appeard, that I would trade all of increased % for a higher tier drop to an increased % to not drop maps below the tier/colour that you played, even capped under 100% would still be better and far more rewarding that to drop white maps on the boss of a red map...

It's OK to get only 5 mil EXP/hour in tier 10 yellow maps only if you get at least triple in tier 15-16 reds...
