You And Alt+F4
" It's true. If you alt-F4, or ESC > Exit, the server is notified almost immediately and removes you from the instance. I have exited with literally about 25 health while fighting deadly enemies and still didn't die. The reason people think it takes 6+ seconds is because of a SEPARATE feature: If your internet goes out, and you do not send any data to the server for 8 seconds, your character is automatically logged out. This feature is mostly meant for hardcore mode, to try and prevent unfair deaths due to your connection going out. But if your internet connection hasn't gone out, and you alt+f4, ESC > Exit, or just click the X to close the game, the server is notified of this almost right away (basically as long as it takes for your client to send a packet to the server) I used to think this tactic was cheap and lame and borderline cheating. But when you get desynced and are watching your health magically drop even though there are no enemies near you, you learn to accept the fact that exiting is nearly instantaneous. |

can you really alt+f4 fast enough to make it usefl? Most of my deaths happen before i could properly react.

" Well alt+f4 is awkward to reach in an emergency, so using ESC > Exit Game is often a better way. Just don't accidentally click Options instead or you watch yourself die while helpless to do anything and then feel stupid as hell. I'm not speaking from experience on that one... honest I'm not... |
