What laptop to play PoE ? [Answered & solved]
I recently purchased a Toshiba laptop for the same reason. I'm not sure of the model number. But it has m90 gfx card, 16gb ram, ssd @124gb. It runs Poe better than my friends dedicated gaming machine. Better yet I can farm in bed and not at a desk

" Some random and cheap stuff I bought because it was big and had two fans so it could suit many different laptops. Pretty effective on my current and old laptop though. I'll definitely go for an Asus ROG with a GFX card and a SSD. Since "Chris said the closest to paying to win", would there be a real difference between an i5 and an i7 ? (I want to be sure it's worth spending €200 more). |

Mines i5 as the 7 was too much. And like I said it runs poe easily on full spec

I eventually bought an ASUS G552VW-DM475T :
On board processor Intel® Core™ i7-6700HQ Processor 2.6 GHz (6M Cache, up to 3.5 GHz) Operating System Windows 10 (64bit) Video Graphics NVIDIA GeForce GTX960M (N16P-GX) Storage SATA 1TB 7200RPM 2.5' HDD SATA3 128G M.2 SSD Total System Memory DRAM DDR4 8G So far PoE is running perfectly. Absolutely no performance issue with High Quality shadow playing a char using Obliterate, wither and a chaos golem, meaning there are many effects and explosions all the time. I didn't try Malakai, thought. I feel like this fight will still bother me in some way. I discovered my own old standard hideout : some things I couldn't see before are to be reworked, but overall the game looks gorgeous ! The new maps are particularly beautiful : congratulations GGG ! The way I now play the game is completely different : dodging is super easy and many bosses are trivialised. I realize how the game is supposed to be played when you have no performance issue and no FPS drop. So far I never died because of performance issues, only when I got overconfident and one-shot, or because the boss was way too strong for my char : BLEED However there are a few things puzzling me : the shadows actually help a LOT spotting off-screen foes (this is a buff). This is quite unfair for players with a regular computer. However, sometimes the shadows kinda "hide" monsters so you discover them when you're at melee range, which doesn't happen without the shadows (this is a nerf). There are several little things like that I realized. This is really weird : should the graphics affect the gameplay this much ? Anyway, thanks to the community for giving me advice. One more happy PoE player. Last edited by Mary_Alambra#1259 on Oct 9, 2016, 11:55:27 AM

" Is the gtx 970m 3gb real 3gb? or is it like 2.5 gb like the gtx 970 3.5gb card. The real hardcore PoE players and the elites sit in town and zoning in and out of their hideouts trading items. Noobs that don't know how to play PoE correctly, kill monsters for items. It's pure fact, it will never change.
Welcome to PoE. |
