tldr dont play on a laptop this game needs a good standalone set for its 2010 graphic

Holy shit that graphics card is horrible. There's nothing 2015 about it lol.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Any gaming one. Or in case they're too expenisve, look for one with really decent cpu cooling. Otherwise you'll get hot cpu and slideshow after like 30 min of playing.
Srsly, laptops can screw gaming experience.

I'm used to playing with the following production_config :
Spoiler
1texture_quality=5
adapter_name=Intel(R) HD Graphics 3000
antialias_mode=0
borderless_windowed_fullscreen=false
fullscreen=false
post_processing=false
resolution_height=699
resolution_width=1280
screen_shake=false
shadow_type=no_shadows
texture_filtering=16
texture_quality=1
vsync=false
[GENERAL]
engine_multithreading_mode=enabled

My current laptop (i5, 2,50GHZ, 4GB ram) runs PoE decently for 2 hours (needs a restart after that) with, however, huge FPS drops including a 2-3 seconds freeze when too many things happen. Since I use a laptop cooler I don't have cooling issues anymore.

I'm often traveling, a laptop is my only option.

I agree with the useless increase of effects during boss fights (and other fighting moments). Each time GGG fix performance issues, they add more ways to get (very) unexpected discos...

thanks guys

what laptop cooler you have?
my english sux.
I'm partial to razer laptops. The newer ones can hook up to an external GPU to get closer to desktop levels of power.

They're kind of pricey though if you want one with a gfx card in it(the no gfx card version is cheap but I have no idea how that'll run).

Thunderbolt port right? The newer ones on Asus's line have those as well. Hardware's not my strong suit though, so I could be mistaken. I'm more than happy with the 980m anyway.
my wife's lappie is a toshiba satellite, i7 (6th gen), 8 gig ram + nvidia graphics (some 900-series version - i think a 920m or 940m?).

runs PoE perfectly fine 99% of the time, with occasional stuttering (but it's PoE, that's to be expected :P). only plays solo - never parties-up.

i'd say get an i7 lappie built this year, with a discrete nvidia gpu. stay away from anything amd/radeon. get an ssd if you can afford it, but a mechanical (5400 rpm) hard drive is actually tolerable to use with PoE now.

this isn't my game-playing account; just my forum-posting account :P
One with a good SSD. Chris said thats the closest to paying to win and he's right. My advice is get one of the recommend systems bare bones pull it's HDD throw it the trash and get a Samsung 850 pro

If you have the money these are best IPS display and built well and have everything

I've always been happy with Asus so take a look at their ROG (Republic of Gaming) laptops. Here's a review of their ROG G752VS. This review includes a nice chart to compare desktop vs. mobile Nvidia GPUs (if you can decipher the gpu hardware specs).

Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration.

I usually play on an ASUS ROG laptop as well. The difference in performance between it and my son's gaming PC are negligible.
I would suggest the MSI GT series 62/72/73/83 VR. They are equipped with gtx 1060+ graphic cards.
Asus ROG is pretty decent...mine is like 6 years old (first gen i7/5870 GPU) which I have connected to a BenQ monitor. Was running pretty good but recently getting worse framerate drops and other issues. If I was not building a new desktop in the next few months I would absolutely put an SSD in it. I have been in Best Buy recently and they have several gaming laptop options inexplicably very few if any had ssds included. Also if you can hold off Black Friday and Cyber Monday are not very far away might find a good deal...
