I really, really, hate what Atlas did to unique maps.

Hate is to kind of a word actually...

You cannot get unique maps outside of Zana, special recepies, or out of the base map type.

I.E., Poorjoy can only drop out of a temple map...

Unique maps used to be nice little breaks that would drop every so often, I went through all of Essence (89) before going to fool around in standard without seeing a unique map.

I'd rather unique maps be the same as before and drop the shaper orbs from them. :/

Once you've completed 1 Poorjoy's, can't you drop it in any Map of appropriate level? I had the impression that the adjacency condition only restricts unlocks.

Did I miss some fact that Unique Maps behave differently from other Maps? Other Maps only require adjacency for unlocking. I know this because I have dropped non-adjacent Maps from ordinary Magic and Rare Maps.

Adghar is correct i think, once you unlock a unique map it can drop anywhere.

Basically it stimulates unique map trading early league.

Run some ubberlab and be happy if you get the map box, it contains a unique map, pretty good way to unlock them.

This sounds like something that shouldn't be true...

I'm pretty sure I got a Whakawairua Tuahu without doing Strand first. Though that could just be because I ran a map that could drop Strand.

That would actually make more sense though... If it's based on whether or not you have access to the base map.

No it doesn't - the completion bonus does that. People would trade for unique maps they don't have, regardless of how the drop system worked.

Arguably, this system actually makes trading for unique maps *less* necessary, since you can kind of farm for specific ones now.

I have to say if there is one thing atlas of worlds has heavily discouraged me from doing .. its playing temp leagues seriously


After all the shit i have had to do to unlock these maps on standard (not even unique ones) the words never again are etched in stone.

I dont want to go through the atlas again. i wont want to have to unlock these unique maps again.

at-least with masters you can just kind of ignore them if you wana suffer that grind again
I too am concerned for future leagues...I'm expected to unlock all the lab crap, all the master crap, all the chained-prophecy crap, all the atlas crap...every league? They'll need to introduce some short cuts or something because that's going to become tedious.

For a permanent league it's totally fine but I don't think I have enough time in every temp league for all this!

i gotta say if ggg were to introduce some sort of league rotation on standard id probably only play temp leagues to get the 2nd tier mtx reward what ever cheap league only crap there is .. rip it all to standard .. and go back to playing standard.

I think you're missing the point of Temp. Leagues.

They are supposed to serve as a fresh start, in EVERY aspect of the game - what's the point of starting a Temp. League, where every player has a fully unlocked Atlas, all 8 Ascendancy points and all level 8 Masters ?!

Your post pretty much implies that you want Temp. Leagues to act like permanent leagues, do you even realize that ?
