Why not go directly to DX12 skipping DX11?

because dx12 not work on windows 7.... DX11 its was the most of ppl use and wat most of video game use

Correct. Vulkan, however, works on all platforms, and provides basically the same benefits as DX12, since it's also a low-level API.

I'd love to see PoE add Vulkan support at some future date, once people have had more time to play around with it.

As commented in somewhere in the intarwebs
"It'll displace DX12 when the industry ditches Windows. IOW... when pigs fly.

It has a decent shot at becoming the defacto standard for non-Windows platforms, though."

I'm pretty sure that migration from DX9 to DX11 has been gargantuous effort and next step to make a DX12 client might be lot easier. Dunno. Haven't wrote anything on DX since 5.0 something just for trying some stuff.

If ever GGG want to hit big with this game they should consider Steam/Google platforms and iow. Vulkan. We'll see. I keep my hopes up.

And Blizzard. You can shove your WoW return pleas to the void. I wonder what kind of kid game "Diablo 4" is going to be.

Your web browser is broken. The forums don't have a white background.

Also I guess DirectX 11 support will leave beta (via patch 2.5.0) in early 2017 with a beta taking place in December 2016.

Will a Dx11 client solve the lag issue with femurs of the saints or will players of the lagromancer variety, with potential over 120% attack/ cast speed summoners, again be left alone to suffer playing different builds?
It's sad, sad that the best item for summoners is regarded as trash.
The most beautiful item, the FEMUR OF THE SAINTS.
PLS buff, even if it is laggy as hell at least give me "femurs" for my pants by giving me potential increases even tough im going to die during the 1 FPS during my vaal summon skeletons and vaal haste.
Its going to make me moist, we wuz summonas.

With best regards
someone that made ppl choose diff servers cause they thought the lag was server side and not lagromancer *kek*

DirectX 11 will likely not resolve the need to load effects on-the-fly, however the shift to a 64bit architecture should allow them to eliminate the need for on-the-fly loading of assets from the HDD/SSD because it will pretty much let them load the entire game in to RAM if the user has enough physical RAM available (alternatively load as much as will fit instead of being restricted to using up to 4GB on a x64 O/S). For SSD users they won't see as big of a difference as HDD users would, in both cases it will eliminate the need for on-the-fly transfer of data to RAM before delivery of data to the video card though.

x86 O/S lets a single x86 program use up to 3GB of RAM.
x64 O/S lets a single x86 program use up to 4GB of RAM.
x64 O/S lets a single x64 program use over 1024GB of RAM (I think Microsoft has an artificial cap of 64 or 128GB on consumer versions of their O/S, been a few years since I looked in to their artificial limit).

@Chris Hello i was wondering Would it be possible to buff life nodes slightly? Such as nodes near the marauder and duelist mainly because both of these classes are mainly life based and are not particularly great with CI or Energy based builds. I know recently you had mentioned that there was testing with life based builds and found to be just fine with no issues. But if you look at how incredibly easy it is to get 12k to 15k ES which nearly double sometimes even triple the amount of life with lower node heavy compared to a life based with trying to even reach 8k life and having heavy amount of nodes to just life itself.

this!!!!
Do we know when 2.4.2 is due?
I love you GGG
