GGG desires "Player Interaction" in Trading?...

Yes he is right and there's nothing sad about it.

There are people who avoid installing unknown home made programs on their computers.
There are people who don't know these programs exist, as they are unrelated to the official developer of the game.
There are people who simply dislike to go through the whole process. There are superior activities to waste time on maintaining a shop in a computer game, as it's continuous.

And even if you've installed, bought premium tabs and shit, it doesn't help a lot.

- player is afk
- player doesn't respond
- player is logged off

Imagine, there are people who doesn't consider playing a computer game a "business", nor have the time to spend the whole day on it. I won't speculate these are the majority of players, but it's likely.

Once again, do you have any point, and what exactly it is?

And posting items on poe.trade is hard? o_O After you set up your shop, you literally don't need to do anything more than putting item in stash. Or, If you don't have premium stash, you just need to put price on item.
SO MUCH WORK, DAMN!
In all my poe history I never heard of a guy who had expensive item and he decided to not sell it because it's hard to sell something in poe.trade...

You really think the majority of PoE players, will download 3-rd party program,go through the hassle to set it up,make a shop and start selling on poe trade?

Nah sorry,i doubt more than 30% of the total player base even know about this site. Most of the people get scammed in trade chat 24/7 or don't bother trading at all.

Must be ages ago since i met the last one who didnt know peo.trade, i bet > 90% of the players know about it.

3rd party tool? Just use the forum, i never used Procurement cause it realy sucked, and if you dont put every crap in your stash its realy not an issue to do it yourself. Takes 2 mins to update your shop with like 5 stash tabs. The reason i use acqusition atm is mainly to find items in my stash, and for the few stash tabs with idividual priced items.

Surely both will transit you from A to B.
Is it what you mean?

They actualy don not walk by feet, in d2 the walked by feed, the only way to sell an item was to make a screenshot. Finding an item, good luck with that, youll spent more time searching in forums than playing.

What we actualy have is like the fuel-taxes. For the same reasons. Save the enviroment from people who dont care about it. The current trading system limits itself. You have to spent time to sell items. You cant spamm T15 maps and selling every item you find at the same time, you have to interact with people.

But the REALLY important, i'd say, is that you have to price your items. People just dont want to ask for price for every trash item. If you want to sell them, especialy low valueable items, you have to take effort in knowing how to price them. You CANT just spam them in the Forum/Public Stash/Auction House and auto sell them for the highest bid. Sorry if that prevents you from auto-get-rich.

Thats, im pretty sure, what the trading system intended for, to save the market and save the majority of people from ppl who just would spam items without any effort. And it works well.

[Removed by Support]- the only reason we don't have an automated trading system in a game with a heavy emphasis on trading, is the financial expenses of the developer's side, thus complete lack of will.
If ggg could develop and implement such a system for pennies, we would have had it tomorrow, no matter who and what thinks about it.

If trading was more automated the people who play 10 or 15 hours a day would benefit even more. The reason you dont see and instant trade style auction house like Diablo 3 had is because it forces you to take time away from mapping/farming to do trading. This forces players to choose what items they put up for trade or what items are worth their time. If everyone listed everything for trade the prices would drop to basically nothing since everyone is trying to acquire currency not items they dont need. Diablo 3 had major issues with this you could gear up with 10 mins worth of gold drops. Diablo 2 was the go to ARPG for 10+ years thanks to its lack of auction house.

Also to everyone saying there is no need for crafting I think you are wrong. Sure you can get good items for quite cheap but they are not anywhere near the best you can make with crafting.

lol t4t is some interaction. I'm overwhelmed with interaction.

And the ppl who think u cant automate that its simple really

I'd say about 1/4 of ppl I trade with are humans.. I test this and message them like stuff and no reply

or dont speak english ..........smh
Just give us a better API which can tell us If a seller is afk and a better online status (so we can filter them out).
It would also help if the API provided actual logged in character name and not the higher character level name.

It would remove so much frustration from the trading experience.

What do you guys think of this idea:
Items which are listed <= 1 Chaos can be bought automatically. This would prevent flipping and would help new players a lot.

You are forgetting that the price of chaos isn't hard-bound to any other (lower)currency. If it was "less than one fusing" then why not, or if fusing(or whatever)->chaos recipe was introduced.
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

So far what I understand by reading about the catastrophic failure of D3AH,
was that D3AH short circuited D3's core gameplay,
which is to play the game, kill monsters and gain cool loot.

What happened was players go and extensively farm the areas with the fattest gold reward,
and play the AH to get their cool gears.
It didn't help that the system has built in RMT.
Some players just bought the gears and boom, done finished the game tyvm.
Which is not what the developers aimed for.

I think that is the fear of an in-game and automated trading system
that players and GGG are worried about.
It's not helped that many players have accumulated so many items of the game
through the course of the years they are playing it.
Since trading is now streamlined and easy,
those players can now easily put those items on the market.
Items flooding the market and prices dropping,
making those juicy items readily attainable with a few chaos.
You add bots and farmers and.. you get the picture.

That is the essence of Shagsbeard's question..

People would answer this question differently: Would the game be any fun if you could have what ever item you wanted?

Some would say Hell yes! Others would say absolutely not.

That's the problem here. There's different people with different ways to play. Automating trade would ruin the game... for many. Lack of automated trade ruins the game for some.

Question is only who has the most money to support GGG's development?

If you have everything you wanted, what is there to play for?..

I myself would like to have an in-game automated trading system,
but not at the cost of crippling the core mechanics of the game.
I think there should be a major overhaul of how items are acquired and how they are consumed,
before GGG can implement an in-game automated auction house.

That is what I learned and all IMHO.
