Do helmet enchants (40% increased vortex damage) double dip and apply to ignite damage?
I'm playing an RF vortex character with pyre so vortex ignites. I'm wondering if a 40% vortex damage helmet will double dip (increase the damage of the ignite) or not. If it doesn't double dip i'll go for a "RF grants 30% spell damage" because that definitely double dips. TY

Yes, those kind of bonuses work as a generic damage bonus applied to a specific skill so it affects all that you do with it.

Aaaand I on other hand would say they doesn't. They increase skill damage - they don't word as they are adding generic damage increase.
If they do, then I would understand it as they are adding support gem, which is adding generic 40% damage increase. Is this how it works? I'm not really sure about that, so don't take my word on it. Got any source on that raics? Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance.

Good to know. Never went into DoTS area too much, so I was never interested in it. Question is whenever these bonuses work like these gem type specific bonuses, altho my assumption would be that they do. Thanks for the info! :D

No it does not double dip.
Skill only modifiers only apply to the skill, nothing else. Raics here is misguided because his testing is flawed. For testing he used a Bronn's Lithe. That item is vastly different to these helm enchants. The chest piece simply adds a generic damage increase when using movement skills. This will obviously double dip when the dot is caused by a movement skill. Helm enchants usually refer to a specific skill, and add a skill only modifier that cannot double dip. Vortex's dot cannot be boosted by the enchant because the dot is not "vortex damage". |

Can we just have one discussion, in one thread, that'd be mighty convenient.

Raics comment is the correct one as confirmed by Mark.
