After 2.5 years I got my first Sacrifice at Midnight

As others said, they're not hard to get if you farm them.

If you're doing just end-game and maps, you won't find nearly as may Vaal areas as you do with normal Act progression areas. I've noticed that with my characters, then again it could just be RNG was bad for maps for me.

I've gotten 4 since October, 2015. Have 3 in stash, used 1 so far.

Actually, now that you mention it, I don't think I've seen a single Vaal area in maps since Atlas dropped. That's concerning, I feel like it might be a bug or a design oversight preventing them from spawning on the new layouts. If it's intentional, well, that's just stupid.

pffft i got 3 midnights within 30 minutes in essence, chaining the sacfrags in the map device
really, they are too common now it seems

... yeah i dont think there's vaal areas in maps at all... is there supposed to be? because there isnt any, EVER!! if they are supposed to be, they are as rare as mirrors lol

ive been 320% movespeed running thru tier 1 maps for essences, ive sold like 20+? offering to the goddess... NO VAAL AREAS!!
i even got 3 divines and an exalt, and i only kill like 3 packs of monsters per map, i just run to essences with blade vortex and whoever dies while walking dies, i dont do much dmg i compromise the build's power alot with movespeed gear ... no iir or iiq, if there is its accidental

dont u guys ever corrupt maps? I only get sac pieces from corrupted map bosses and I have already done 8 atziri runs and I've got 3 more midnights in my stash. I kind of even get dissapointed when i get midnight because then i know i cant use it with random maps for 5% more quantity

It seems like every other Her Mask I turn in gives me a Midnight.. :S

And now there's also Uber Izaro that poops them out as well.


But in a similar light, it took me over 2.5years to get a Tabula Rasa drop, and I don't play a small amount..

That's a considerable amount of time for a pretty low end-game achievement but I applaud you for sticking it out and not just buying it. Honestly this game would be hella boring if all you did was buy the best gear and then buy all the end game content. I don't get people that have 200 mirrors that do that, like there is no fun if you just start the game with everything. It's like the old school game shark cheats. Invulnerability in Mario Bros makes the game trash. Same here.

I remember when Ascendancy dropped and I was running EQ. Tried like hell to get that EQ enchantment on my helmet but never had any luck. After like 30 runs, I saw one on POET for 8ex and was like done, gimme. After I equipped it, took it into a map and was like meh, that's it? So now what do I play for?

I have gotten about 10 midnight fragments to drop. I'm still waiting for a 6L. When is the next blue moon month?

Just in this league, without running extra vaal side area's or using frags in map device.

Normal leveling and every cartobox i find gets a vaal thrown onto it for corrupted maps.

If you really "wanted" one, you could have greatly increased your own odds of finding them.
Don't expect RNG to favor you if you don't do anything in your power to curb it in the desired direction.
