Lightning Spec - Is it wroth it?

I rolled a witch and decided to take lightning spec. I dedicated a lot of points to +lightning dmg passives, but so far the only two lightning skill gems I have found are spark and lightning nova. I've been through the 1st difficult and did a couple quests in the next difficulty hoping to find new skills, but haven't. My two questions are: Are there any high level lightning skills (ie. Chain Lightning) and more importantly is lightning mastery even viable?

Lightning (if you reach over into the Templar side also) is really insane at low levels (1-30 so far). I have yet to get too far with it but so far it is just insane. Shock nova hits VERY hard. It is pretty much a glass-cannon spec thus far, but it is fun!

I also suggest getting frost nova to help survivability.

yes, lightning is pretty good!!
spark+multiproj+pierce is quite a lightshow(and unpredictable) and the shoknova...
but, alas there are no other lightningspells(except that teleporter, of which i forgot the name right now)

So right now there are only 3 different lightning spells?

Does the support gem system make up for the (now) lacking number of spells?

Wow. I am shocked that there are only 3 lightning skills. I just got into the beta and have been spamming "Spark" as the witch. I've spent a few point on the lighting bonuses and it is okay, but if there are only 3 skills, that is a very boring class

I guess I'll ditch the char and start a new char.

Please add more lightning skills. 3 skills is very boring!

I have a witch lighting build and she solos way better then my marauder at the same level. with all the bumps in equipment and gems for lighting and following the lines to the lighting bonuses is worth the time.

Sounds like there are only 2 usable lightning offensive attacks right now which make the build iffy for higher levels.
I'd love to be able to rock a lightning build, but the lack of skills is devastating.

Frost has:
-Ice Spear for solid ranged damage
-Freezing Pulse for insane close-range damage
-Frost Wall for distancing/protection
-Ice Nova for AoE with medium range
-Cold Snap for high ranged freeze

Fire has:
-Fireball for ranged small AoE
-Fire storm for high-damage ground-targeted AoE
-Shield spell, which requires you getting hit and being in melee

Lightning has:
-Spark for 'random' ranged damage but solid close-range damage
-Lightning warp for movement or damage, if you care to be in melee
-Shock Nova for high but unpredictable damage

There are various "convert X damage to Y type", and many more melee skills for Templars. Plus traps may benefit from skills. But for now, Frost has almost twice the amount of skills as the other elements. The skills compliment each other well and form a complete set, which make Frost very attractive.

Personally, I'd like to see the following. Fire could use a quick-casting AoE nova-style spell with high Burning chance and some form of crowd control. Lightning should have the weird damage spread on Shock Nova removed and get a single-target lightning or chain lightning spell.
