Hi. I'm the designer of this item, and just thought I'd clear that up for you. The size of the flask is equal to a level 10 blasphemy. So, usable as a ranged character but not at a super far distance.

Ok, people... Without a higher base damage given by a X to Y physical, you're not going to get as much out of your +% physicals. Period.
Shags, there's a difference between global and local increased damage mods. The increased phys dmg mod on a weapon is local.

When you're looking at a weapon, it doesn't matter if you arrive at its DPS output by flat x-y bonuses or increased phys dmg bonuses - they are all local.
The Wheel of Nerfs turns, and builds come and pass, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the build that gave it birth comes again.

Not trying to convince you, trying to help you understand how this actually works.

A 700 dps sword is a 700dps sword no matter how its rolled. Increases to the tree take that 700 and multiply it not the local flat alone.

-So a sword with "X% increased physical" resulting in 700 dps
-A sword with "Adds Y to Z physical damage" resulting in 700 dps
-And a sword with "K% increased physical + adds L to M physical damage" resulting in 700dps

All of the above have exactly the same scaling from your increases on your tree that apply to that instance.


The damage of the weapon is your base damage, thats the damage that is taken into account. On top of that damage now you add any other source of flat physical damage, like from rings, gloves, amulets or whatever unique gives them. And the this value is affected from the tree nodes that can affect it.

See this (in the examples), if you dont (want) to believe us.

My immediate thought with this is that you can probably make Ranger work with 2-handers right? Cause Pathfinder with Dying Sun + Witchfire seems pretty stunning. Also can just Blasphemy Vuln instead. It's something of a shame Ice Crash is locked out though. Probably just end up with Reave or Cyclone.
