Yup! before you can get a corrupted Anvil, just use doedre's damning. It's quite cheap and won't affect the build much

Glad you like it! The only real option for us is gladiator, for the 100% of block chance applied to spells. Without it, getting spell block is complicated and can be very costly. Without Gladiator, this would be a very different build :) I would take them in this order:
- Pain forged -> Versatile Combatant -> Outmatch and Outlast. For the endgame lab choice, i would probably chose Violent retaliation for the increased movement speed on block, which helps speed up map clearing.

Thank you. I am quite confident this build is going to work out as i planned it. I was going to wait until i reached maps with it in 2.4 before i would pm you about adding it to the build list :)

I played one back in Perandus (made it to lvl 88 or so). I'm quite confident you'll reach maps easily.

Aegis Max block is one of the safest hardcore melee builds out there! I have been making builds for hardcore since start of closed beta, for myself, my girlfriend and friends. Not a single one has not made it to maps, but this is the first one i decided to share. :D

The build looks great. I'll be trying it out the next few days.

It does seem weird to me, however, that you're suggesting Blasphemy + curses + Alpha's Howl. The curses don't benefit from Alpha's Howl and getting +2 level on just Blasphemy isn't that great.

What do you think about double Doedre's Damning alongside Cast When Damage Taken + Conductivity + Elemental Weakness + Warlord's Mark? It's a shame the curses will be low level, but that way can run Alpha's Howl + auras. (And also, which auras would be best if building the character this way is sensible?)
