I don't know why anyone thinks flippers will be affected in any way. The CoC nerf was telegraphed by GGG months earlier. Anyone remotely decent at flipping has long since liquidated their devotions if they had any.
Also, I don't think it will be a handful of people. It will be a lot of people since coc and mjolner builds were highly popular. The game was in a precarious position since prophecy league, now they gut some of the more popular builds and do nothing about the labyrinth - I'm not optimistic about the health of its population. Let's hope I'm wrong but I'm usually right with these predictions.
Again i would argue that if the game has stagnated to a point where making changes for the betterment of the games future means upsetting such a fickle player base who would not see the greater good of it and accept it then good riddance to them and lets usher in the better playerbase aka anyone who stuck around which will be... 99% of players.
