I don't know. The rest of the elementalist tree is very "meh" to downright "meeeeh" for this kind of build. Pre-conflux nerf, sure, I'd humor it. But now? Not so much. The "only" thing we'd really want out of it would be Paragon of Calamity to try to deal with these reflect problems. But honestly, If I can't fix these problems without switching to elementalist, I'll just go.... crit fireball or something, so at least I can use that AOE from pendulum of destruction. And crit fireball with ele prolif would certainly be interesting, and the build wouldn't require too much modification.

Just a quick update on this. I've hit a bit of a gear block at level 70. The game's scaling has caught up with the damage, but I've been less than lucky with drops (heck, i'm still stuck with bitterdream). I just can't seem to get anything to drop, and my maps aren't self sustaining, so I need to farm some more maps from regular areas. Without that base damage from better items, there's nothing for the crit damage to scale up. Right now at T4 maps, it's starting to feel a bit like a slugfest. I feel confident that once I get some items, and some base damages behind those crit stats the damage will start climbing substantially again, but it's quite a low low right now.

I might have to swap to something a bit more gear friendly for a while, and farm up some items to make this build work a bit better. I'll certainly come back to this before "too" long, but I need to get some farm on. Sorry! While this build doesn't require any super expensive uniques, I need the game to drop me "something" other than +12% spell damage daggers.

Go with wands, you dont need crit chance from daggers for icespear, you can easily cap its second form without almost any crit chance on gear. And its hella easier to get some wand with 70+ spell crit chance + 70+ spell dmg or crit multiplier for like 2-5 chaos.
I've made icespear build this league too, but inquisitor going full ham on dps with similar build that i made few months ago at that time it was not viable compared to almost any other skill. Now im going through content like mad.

What im planning to do is using cold to fire conversion with at least 4 izaro's turmoil jewels, that way u can ignore almost all damage nodes on tree.

There is another advantage going fire - u can go for chaos conversion against reflect. But that will lower your damage and make build heavy uniques dependant.

For mana problems for groups herald with assasin's mark works great, for single target im using mainly 4l firestorm. Tried to use berek's grip it works fine as life leech but i still have mana problems with only 5l icespear on single target.

We lose some damage, but go elementalist for reflect problem and pick up +1 golem (ice golem gives us 40% more dmg and crist chance too)
Curse is warlords mark, and we use disci aura.
This should help us staying alife against reflect and help with mana problems!

Im in cruel, no one ever would oneshot himself to reflect in cruel with icespear! Maybe if you lack alot of cold res. So far i prefer freezing pulse big times because the damage of icespear is just too low!

The main problems would be to get enough base ES and bossfights without trash to trigger Vile Bastion.

MoM can be used if your ES Pool is high enough. Eventualy drop Zealoth Oath and get Ghost Reaver instead. You can flask HP and leach constanty ES to mitigrate 30% dmg and fuel your Spells. So you have a bese life Regen against Debuffs and you have ES Regen due Vile Bastion.

MoM with realy good Gear through Vile Bastion and ES
No Mana Probs ( eventually Shavronne's Gambit )

No other Dmg Migration
