Prestige (character reset with permanent bonus)
" Ok, sorry. A 'prestige' is a feature found in a lot of mobile games these days to expend playtime. It's basicly a reset with a permanent bonus to something as a reward for resetting. This way you experience the game again with slightly different variables for some extra fun for the experienced player.
" Ahh it's when you rr with an innate bonus post rr, from the "start", like in many old school games, right ? I'm not sure ... why not I guess, if it does not become OP ( lik .. not double skill points for example ). It could be also purely cosmetic. But one of the points of all the low level uniques ( and the fact that you will already have some gear ) is to give you an advantage while rerolling, it's already half what you are asking, you are starting with advantages. It does not stack up to give you a bigger advantage later on ... but to be honest there is a lot, like a real lot of power creep that GGG has to deal with already. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" 1. The low level unique benefit can also be used by just starting a new character in the same league. 2. The power creep problem can be countered by a penalty like 20% more damage taken to increase the stakes.
You do not choose what you drop at the beginning, on a fresh start.
When you reroll, you have a much much bigger item pool anyway. And hell no, increase damage taken ? NO That would only increase the one shot mechanics fest and just fuck everybody that does not one shot everything or everybody that isnt a juggernaut. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

" You have the item pool too when you create a new character in the same league. I said that already. There should be something rewarding to give up +80 levels of experience. " In the last 5 years of posting suggestions it always ended up in comments like this. Okay, fine. 20% increased damage taken might be not the best of penalties, but it's just an example of what kind of counterbalance there could be for the bonus you get when you prestige. It's about the idea. Not about the details. When GGG thinks this idea is a good one it will be completely different implemented and balanced anyway. It's about the idea and not about some detail you can bomb. Last edited by Kaw#5407 on Aug 22, 2016, 6:55:48 AM

" So I think that you completely missed my point. It's not a fresh start if you already have gear, and that gear is already an advantage provided by the fact the you have played another char in this league. That's some kind of reward already. I know that the idea isn't that bad, but the details are what makes it good or not. We will see if GGG has a good way to deal with power creep in 2.4.0. I really hope that they will find a way to deal with it before putting even more power creep into the game, I really do, and if they can, maybe something like your suggestion would be a possibility. SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.

I like the idea, but would require a proper bonus. I say make it easier to get a charactee to lvl100. When you hit 100, you can prestige, which resets you to level 1, but you can remove 1 stat requirement from 1 piece of gear, but it binds that piece of gear to that char.(no other char can use that item. And it cant be traded.)
So you could remove the str requirement for a mjolner. Each piece of gear can only have a requirement removed once. This will lead to powercreep of course, but also an itemsink Edit. Thinking lvl100 might be too much of a restriction. We could give the option at the end of each difficuly act 4 completion. Reset char level/progress. But the item which you remove stat requirement is restricted to max ilvl of difficulty of completion. So no removi g intel requirements of a shavs with a normal clear Last edited by BloodBaneBoneBreaker#7706 on Aug 22, 2016, 10:07:07 AM

" Best idea yet, but the edit-part was a bit too much.. -level 100 -characterbound items d:-D*

prestige should only be available if you hit 100

" Which is as good as impossible for normal people. Depending on the reward I would say that prestige should be possible between lvl 80 and lvl 95. |
