I feel like stacking HP is the best way to go...

imo they shouldnt NERF the life-nodes but BUFF them instead:
make 8% nodes -> 15% nodes make +20 Life-nodes -> +50 Life-nodes there would be no more need to choose just hp-nodes, because you would have enough life with a few of them. and bang -> you buff everything else in a build, cause everyone can now choose the imba-damage-crit-evasion-nodes... |

Working as intended.
Skill trees are not here to create diversity, they are here so you can fail a few characters before you get the right build, this way you can enjoy leveling new characters. D2 was praised for this awesome feature. |

change 8% health to 2% so it will be balanced
Or you could remove it, so players will have to actually play the game to survive, istead of just faceroll |
|
" first change would just cause that you would have to pick every single HP node in tree because your arse will be kicked.. Second change would make this game unplayable.. Easy fix would be reduce damage of monsters AND players.. and then fix armor.. |
|
" But then they'd STILL just collect all the HP nodes, and the disparity would only increase. They should probably, honestly, just REMOVE some of the HP nodes. That's right, just remove them, so that players would collect those near them and then actually want to spec into other areas as it would no longer be most efficient to put so many points into the tree to get to the next batch of HP nodes. "But wait," some of you cry, "that'll just make HP stacking less effective/possible!" Exactly. It'd be more in balance with the other defensive means. " Then what is here to create diversity and separate each character you make from being the same? I agree with you though, the skill tree is currently setup to make you fail unless you stack HP nodes and regen nodes instead of trying to make a balanced build. A 1350 point passive skill tree where about 1200 points are completely useless. |
|
" The problem isn't health, it's that armour and evasion are basically junk. If armour and evasion were decent, people would not need so many HP nodes, and therefore would not take them, unless perhaps if they were playing hardcore. Just tweak the high end numbers for armour and evasion (and possibly ES). Problem solved. |

" That isn't comic sans. See you, Space Cowboy...

Viable defensive passive builds:
1. Passives: +HP%, HP Regen Gear: Armour/Evesion, HP 2. Passives: +HP%, %Armour Gear: Armour, HP ,HP regen 3. Passives: +HP%, Evasion Gear: Armour/Evasion, HP I could list many more but my point is that you're doing it wrong. Stacking only Armour or Evasion passives and gear is a sure path to failure. They are not designed to be used by them selves. In your case what you should be doing is build Armour passives and HP passives with Armour Gear with +HP, Hp regen, mods and a Coral Necklace and/Or grab at least one 1.5% hp regen node if your near one. HP is strong because it's the primary stat of the whole game without it you are dead. That being said, you grab some armour passives and decent armour gear along with that and you'll end up pretty tanky. Doesn't mean you can perma face tank bosses/rares cause that's just a stupid tactic to use. Would you stand still in front of your enemy and take hit after hit in real life? No you've move a bit at least. |

" Interesting that you mention Hawking... I mean, I´d definitely gimp myself even worse than him if I would become the next most intelligent person on the planet in turn... Regarding the armor stuff... yeah, it is annoying sometimes when you have ridiculously high AR but get oneshot by bosses. But if you think about it, it actually makes sense. I know, this is a fantasy world and all, but seriously, how realistic would it be to have a full plate mail and survive being rolled over by a tank? The most effective armor mankind has come up with until today cannot protect you against the most effective or most hard-hitting weapons/means of killing mankind could come up with. That is simple logic and has nothing to do with fanboyism (I know, you will throw logic overboard anyways and twist words), because the way man thinks goes like this: I know armor of type X is craftable because I can make it. If I should someday face an opponent protected by armor X, I need to craft weapons with power of X+1 to defeat him. Now imagine what the forces of hell in a fantasy world are capable of. The amount of armor a human being can wear is limited. Therefor there will always be some type of weapon or force that can totally negate protective means whatsoever. Especially in a fantasy world where there are unimaginable powers in action. Yes, you can now come up with something like "Warhammer 40k power armor or Terminator armor" but remember, even that stuff is no protection against Lascannons, giant creatures like a Bloodthirster or even a plasma pistol. Mind you, I am not talking about balancing here, but about logic. And it´s an insult to my capacity of thinking (and it should be an insult to yours) when a game tries to tell me one can negate the effect of an atomic bomb by simply wearing a metal suit - even if it is magically imbued. So yeah, the formula makes sense. It is frustrating, but it makes sense... best regards Hold on to yer shite load o´ bloody barnacles on me arse-cockles, me hearty!
