which is, honestly, very lame. receiving a challenge 'checkmark' by completely circumventing its intended use...doesnt that defeat the whole purpose ?

The alternative is Caerr Blaidd rotations. That challenge was stupidly grindy. If Piety hadn't been an option I would have preferred doing Zana 8 again. Hell, even with Piety as an option that's a toss up.
ok now I get it that caerr gives you a guaranteed map drop.

I knew guaranteed drops were trouble...

I got zana to 8 around 150 map drops from bosses.
We fight to delay the end because it's the means that matter.

I did rotations for pretty much every daily.

well, then its quite inflated

the reason Im asking was because past 3 leagues I tried to get Zana to 8 using with doing zero rotations (actually never did a rotation in my poe playtime ;))

anyway, I was always kinda close but no cigar at the end of each league. This league its looking much faster because of triple xp prophecy.

not sure what I'll hit first - zana 8 or 300

Challenge counts IF you dropped a map from a boss, not how many maps.

Ahhh that's why then ... it's silly :/
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
Twinned Museum and Arena are the best for this challenge. Since every map boss is counted individually giving a chance of 6 points per map.
im sitting at 125 out of 300 maps needed.

It does take forever, but Im hoping this will be one of my planned 36 challenges, to get the monkey.
I much rather do this, than grind voll 1200 time, which still would be pointless as I cant kill atziri and I have no idea what the other stuff is.

36 challenges are hard to achieve :/
YES I support the game, NO I don't agree with many GGG decisions

Lab still sucks balls.

I miss Zana already.
I got 280+ map drops and did not grind for it. It just happened. 3 characters into 90, run a lot of maps but I like running maps. Low level ones for quick farming really boost the drops. If I was going for the next challenge this would be it.

36 challenges are not hard at all btw. Easiest set of challenges to date.
I AM MAD
ZAP!ZAP!ZAP! ME SOOO WIZZARD!
