Stacked Deck is not a Currency!

Stacked Deck cannot be rightly called a currency as long as it is only obtainable from a Divination Card! Stacked Deck is instead a consumable Unique the way it currently functions and is obtained.

Huh? If it shows up as a currency in the loot filter, and you can get it using Emperor's Luck, then what makes you think it isn't a currency?

There's no rule which says currencies need to be world-droppable. If an amulet was only available through a divination card, does that mean it's not an amulet? No, of course not, don't be foolish.
Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

Ok... so what of it. How it's technically classified won't mean anything anyway when we come to find out that it only has a 1 in 100 chance of dropping in a tier 15 map. If it's any good you know GGG is going to gate it behind RNG such that 2000+ hours of play is going to be required to farm a full set.

Hmm... the more we play the more we find GGG moving the carrots further away from us. I used to be able to see level 100 on the distant horizon, now it's half-way around the world from me. Oh well.

Eternal orbs don't drop. I guess they are not currency anymore either.

why does it matter if it is called unique or currency? Maybe you could name it unique currency.

It's about the narrow scope of the currency. Vaal orbs are exciting - you can use them to modify your game in a ton of different ways, because there are a broad range of items you can use them on: gear, strongboxes, maps, etc.

Teasing a new currency, and having it be something as narrowly focused as a chisel, or now this new stacked deck is a bit of a letdown in that regard. It doesn't potentially change your gameplay from zone to zone like an alchemy or a vaal.

It didn't really get teased that much from GGG, did it? He just confirmed it, based on a direct question in the Q&A.

Even knowing nothing else about the situation, by virtue of the fact that he chooses which questions to answer and which ones not to, any of his answers in which incomplete information is given (intentionally) should be considered a tease.

but I did dig up the quote:

Q: There have been rumors that a new currency type is in the works. Confirm/deny.

A: I haven't seen any of these rumours, but let's make this interesting by confirming it.

Playfully phrased, very incomplete information (intentionally), could have just passed on the question.
Well, they call the Labyrinth a labyrinth even though it's not hard at all to navigate, there's a map for it, and it's so much more like a typical, standard dungeon with traps and a boss. So why not call a div card 'currency'?
