What is "a frame timing trick"?

Press F1 until you can see the Frame Time graph (usually you just need to press F1 once). Then, enter a new instance (using Ctrl+Left Click on area entrance - way point marker or doorway - to bring up the instance manager). According to what I've heard, if you see a spike in the graph, that means a Vaal side area has spawned. Otherwise, keep making new instances.

If it has stopped working then you will never see a spike in frame time.

Actually it meant something extra was loaded. Could be a master/master dungeon, an exile, i'm assuming a prophecy now, etc.
