i've said this somewhere else on this forums:

there will always be players/builds who can faceroll/instakill/facetank (trivialize) any boss in this game. see izaro and atziri.

to really make a boss skillbased you need to streamline all chars in such an encounter. meaning you get damaged by % of your max hp and you dmg the boss at a certain rate that does NOT depend on your dps!

but this would mean your imba character is worthless.

after all this is an ARPG! it is about getting godlike and plow through hordes of enemies!
if you want challenging content go play world of warcraft or similar games!

GGG can only make their game a bit more interesting. and some bosses are, some are not. i like how it is!
Yeah, basically the only way ( appart from an overall rebalance ) would be to put either unreductible damage ( = traps for example ), or more one shots.

The discrepancy between godlike (geared) builds and okay/good builds is such that anything threatening to okay/good builds will be a joke to the godlike ones.
So to have a threat to godlike (geared) builds, you need to implement serious threat to them = one shot to all the rest of the player base, which is most likely over 95%.

GG power creep.

But to be honest, the master of the blade is still a bit below that.
Not that far below I think, but still a bit.
SSF is not and will never be a standard for balance, it is not for people entitled to getting more without trading.
