Pale Council's items - a nuke and a fluke

minions' damage is never a problem. minions' sustained dps is. and the biggest factor is the minions' speed - an item that reduces it has to be pretty godly otherwise to compensate. this item.. might be good 'damage' boost but i wouldnt call it enough

The bow is the anti-thesis of what many of us enjoy about Path of Exile. Rare bows being BiS was a good thing. It made it much more affordable and easy to find a upper mid tier bow without breaking the bank. Now, everyone just flocks to reach of the council.

Look at all the amazing new unique melee weapons that people now prioritize even over good rares, bows didn't have anything of the sort so I think it's fair. The free GMP is kinda stupid but it isn't really much different from what Marohi Erqi or Varunastra do for example.

You also have to think about new and casual players that will most likely never be able to afford those bis rares. My bow character is stil using a Lioneye's Glare (which is a suicide on reflect maps) because there's simply nothing better and I could never afford a top rare. I'll be trying to get/buy Reach of the Council before the league ends so she can use it.

this bow is RIDICULOUS

top rare bow (mirrored one) is around 580

this bow is ~350 (it varies but lets round it down to a mid-point). because it has a FREE GMP the rare bow required to match it is 350 * 1.1 * 1.3 (10% less from GMP and 30% MORE from a gem used instead of GMP) this gives us 500 pdps bow

this means that this unique bow is only 86% of a perfect bow possible

Marohi is a 400 pdps weapon while 2h weapons go over 800pdps. it is 50% of a top roll. same applies for the Bino's, Era and several other 'fixed' uniques. sure, Marohi has a free AOE gem that boosts it a little but it is otherwise crap weapon.

they are all somewhere in the 50-60% span. this bow is just someones brain-fart that will haunt us and demand some solid answers


if you want to use a good unique bow: Chin Sol builds farm Uber and my Infractem build did 100% courtyards in 1.2 (before this idiotic power creep). bow uniques are perfectly fine. or rather were because this Reach bow made them all look like scrap

with this bow in the game there is NO POINT in picking up rare bows. crafting one for mirror services is also a waste. it goes well with BiS unique quiver (drillneck) and BiS unique helmet (Rat's nest) and chest (Kintsugi). gearing some time ago was an exercise in making choices. currently there is no gearing - you just use pre-made items and the only creativity allowed is to what order you buy them in

Wait until this bow goes League only or as rare as accuity if the pale council make it to STD. Will this lower the price of Glyph and Brood or make them even more expensive...
