Why would anyone go with energy shield?

armor evasion and stuff still works before dmg is aplied to es btw

No one does, look at every high end build, especially in HC... Everyone stacks HP instead, and thats why there are countless threads about it
There is NO reason to make an ES character right now... For ES to be as good as HP, you need to be able to reach a much higher value with it, thats what GGG fails to understand I recently made two Hc Witches with the exact same build, but one went ES, the other went HP By the end of normal, the ES Witch had 350 HP, 400 ES, the HP Witch had 1500 HP Do I need to say anything else? When a Witch, the spellcaster, benefits more from HP than ES, you know ES is completely broken Last edited by soranamae#7017 on Feb 19, 2013, 3:10:43 PM

" Just saying, you shouldn't go CI until about the middle-end of Cruel when your gear can support you at around 1800-2000 ES. Just saying, you made a very, very bad passive logistical error and are bringing that to bare on the entire build in general. Just saying. I do agree that CI/ES is under-powered in general, I do agree that health and health-regen are insanely good. But I also believe that that is also the reason so many people have only about 30-40 passive skills to use for individualistic/experimental/original builds. |

There should be rolls on life flasks to restore a certain % of the HP healed as ES instead.
Like, "100% reduced HP heal, 45% of HP heal heals ES instead." Right now if you have HP and get hammered, you can pop a flask and shrug it off. ES? You're a bit boned. You're pretty much stuck with quicksilver and Armor flasks as ES Last edited by NastyPants#4999 on Feb 19, 2013, 4:11:42 PM

" I assumed zealot's oath would cover this? might be wrong. http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Zealot%27s_Oath Last edited by Disrespecting#1065 on Feb 19, 2013, 4:14:09 PM

" Ghost Reaver and Zealot's Oath helps this a bit, though I still find it absolutely insane that people would choose ES for melee characters. I, however, have not tried it - but currently I use CI/ES on my witch summoner. |

Eldritch Battery and mass auras.

actually armor isn't that great at all since it doesn't work very well against big hits, staking HP or ES is better against those.

" I was considering speccing my summoner into this as well, sort of struggling between the choice of Life+eldritch battery so i can run Auras, or CI+ES. EB seems like the better option, though not having to worry about chaos resist is a major perk. |
