Blade Vortex can cause bleeding?

I knew It wouldn't work, but tested it for you anyways since you don't seem to be satisfied with game knowledge answers. It doesn't. Rive and Blade Vortex do not cause bleeding.
blade vortex is not melee, it doesnt hit with weapon, it doesnt attack...

How the fuck could it work?
I will never be good but always I try to improve.
I myself play an Assassin with these two nodes and Blade Vortex.

The first node before Toxic Delivery gives you 30% chance to cause bleeding with attacks.

So, I use 2 counter attacks (Vengance, Reckoning) and whirl/flicker over targets to make them bleed.

Only bosses really last long enough for this to be meaningful, btw.

Life Gain on Hit: http://pathofexile.gamepedia.com/Life_Gain_on_Hit_Support

"+(6 to 44) Life gained for each enemy hit by Supported Attack"

If the LGoH support worked with spells then it would be so stupidly powerful. Spark, anyone? Or Firestorm? That's why the life gain on hit for Cybil's Paw is so low comparatively. And I can vouch for Firestorm and Cybil's Paw being quite the combo.

But to answer the OP's original question, Blade Vortex cannot under any circumstances cause bleeding. At the moment, no spell can ever cause bleeding. Only attacks can.

Also of note is the modifier "Causes Bleeding on Hit" is local only to that weapon. A really easy way to test that is to get Rive in your off hand and a mace in your main hand and then use any non-claw attack. If you have no other sources of bleed besides Rive then an attack with the mace only will not cause bleeding.
