Lightning Witch lvl 51, why low dps? Spark/shock totem?

I am doing a Lightning Witch, and currently at level 51. Problem is I feel my DPS is so low, even with 4L Spark - lightning penetration, fork, added lightning damage. Yes I am going critical-build, but still, dps is very low... I think?

Also got 4L Arc - Lightning penetration - crit chanse, crit multiplier.

And a spelltotem with Shocknova - Concentrated effect. (should I maybe go spark totem with fork instead?..)

Conductivity curse for increased lightning damage on enemies.

(all skill gems is leveled up from start)

DPS at spark and arc is around 400dps.

Spelltotem got around 700dps.

And thats freaking low for lvl 51. I got 3 other chars at lvl 50-ish, and they all got above 2000dps.

(this is my first witch. So maybe I am doing something very wrong?)

My wand and shield is not the best in the game, but stats is as following:

51% increased spell damage shield.
31% increased critical chance shield.

60% increased spell dmg on wand
74% increased crit chance for spells on wand.

So... wassup with this low DPS I am experiencing?

The only reason for a Witch to use Passive Skill Points & Gear on Criutical Strike Stuff is Ice Spear with 600 % Increased Critial Strike Chance on second hit.

Why DON'T I need it? I have been calculating on it, and came to 45% chance to crit with the gear I have now, including the passive crit nodes.

95% crit chance is maximum in the game as far as I know? (but almost impossible to build, cause U need ALL the crit-nodes + good crit gear) = no defence.

But since it looks like you know a lot about this, what whould be best for me using this skills?

Spark, Arc, Shock Nova.

Currently using Spark + spell totem + fork + lightning penetration (love this combination).

and

Arc + added lightning damage + crit chance + faster casting.

and

Shock nova with increased radius.

some suggestions

1: yo should go cast speed for ligthning, with a 20% quality arc gem, TO SHOCK is the reason of the build, cast speed increase shock chance.

Crit is good i think for EK, or ice, but if you think arround crit do it!.

remember 3 stack of shock means 120% more damage.


2: spark + totem is good but you are missing you have fork and spell totem you do a 70% less dmg.

fork is not neeeded if you build arround cast, also your dps go higher and higher.

Your talent tree build is bad, consider making a decent one and rerolling.
Lightning build is only viable if you have elemental proliferation, otherwise cannot do shock debuff.
Get static blows, its the key talent for lightning dmg. Drop all those 5-6% damage nodes, drop all mana, int and cast speed nodes - they are useless.
Get as much strength as possible.
Get permanent curses.
Link: arc + proliferation + iron will + penetration, debuff mobs with conductivity, then you will do good damage.
Trash spark, its no use if you have arc. Use molten shell instead of shock nova, it does way more damage + absorbs damage you take. Use skeleton/taunt/flame totems, they are great.
If you go all crit build will have like 16% crit chance = 7 cast to apply 1 shock. If you go suggested build its 1 cast to apply 3 shock.

First, I got Static blows.

Secound, how could I drop all mana and int nodes? First, I need int for int-skills. Second, I am struggeling keeping up mana-regen AND maximum mana for my skills. I got 3 rings that gives a total of 140% mana-regen, plus using Clarity, and that still isn't enough when spamming Arc.

Third, my spark totem is great, in my oppinion. It does insane damage vs large groups of enemies, plus helps me a lot against big bosses.

Will try molten shell, indeed. Shock nova does not work very well for me.

But.. ELEMENTAL PROLIFERATION - what is this? Never heard of, and never tried. Can you explain it more for me?

elemental proliferation spreads status debuffs to nearby montsters. in other words if you shock one badguy, the shock will spread to the other bad guys in a ccertain radius around him

EDIT; Just tried out the Arc - iron will, elemental pro + lightning pen - and wow.. its awesome. Pretty much one-or-two shot normal monsters, and even yellow monsters. Thank you ixthUA ;)

I will try the Arc - iron will - Elemental proliferation - lighting penetration combo + Conductivity curse (which I already use). Also gona try Molten Shell.

But I really need the mana-regen nodes. Even with 2x rings +1x amulet focusing on manaregen + mana-regen aura I don't have enough mana at this time..
