Grand spectrum ele Jewel build - opinions?

Grand Spectrum Viridian Jewel
5% increased Elemental Damage per Grand Spectrum

So I was thinking about making a Grand Spectrum Jewel character, abusing the "overrated" 980% increased ele damage from 14 jewel sockets seems like a fun idea.

Scion tree:
Spoiler

Bandits: Oak - skill point - skill point

I think going for Oak in normal would be needed, the 40 extra life is sooooooo good to have when you come to mapping, also 1 extra skill point wouldn't really do much, @ lvl 100 you could grab 1 more jewel slot making it a total of 15, and that 1 extra skill point from going no bandit in normal wouldn't be able to grab anything useful, that's my way of thought at least.

Would it be more efficient going another bandit?

When it comes to gem choice I'm thinking about something like the spark gem

When @ lvl 20 it does a quite good amount of base dmg

Average coming to about 438 lightning damage.

Spoiler
Just saying, I have no idea if I do math right so bare with me, rip

So using 14 grand spectrum jewels with a 5% increased ele damage each. the math would go something like this..

5*14*14=980 (% increased elemental damage)

438*(1+9.8)=4730.4

4730.4 being the base average damage of the spark jewel, that of course being just the spark gem + 14 grand spectrum ele damage jewels.

Gem final:
Spoiler

And now just doing some other spark gem calculations--

Min damage on the spark gem is 44

44*(1+9.8)=475.2

Max damage on the spark gem is 832

832*(1+9.8)=8985.6

The spark gem would be something like:

And that's just with the jewels. no other gear... What is the potential if you'd add mirror gear to this??

Of course the jewels go at a price 1ex~ (in prophecy league) considering their drop conditions are yet to be revealed, but there are some already out on the market, so another question is... Does anybody know where or how they drop?

Cost of jewels with normal gear included = 25ex~ (could probably go much lower, all depends on what gear you'd use. Minimum cost 16ex~? (1ex~ per jewel)
Spoiler
and a s**t load of time for leveling the charecter ofc...

Apologies for anything I've missed, this kinda is my first serious forum post ~ Be gentle :D

It's 980% not multiplied by 980. Divide your numbers by 100.

Still a great base damage which then gets support gems multipliers.

This gem is tailor made for burning builds. Burning double dips in elemental damage, so something like flameblast is the best option for it.

Flameblast could be a good idea, ye. Don't really know the math that would go into it tho, the stage calculations is beyond me :P

Spoiler

Not charged:

241 to 362 base damage.

241*(1+9.8)=2602.8

362*(1+9.8)=3909.6

2602.8 to 3909.6 damage with 14 jewels.

Average damage when not charged: 3256.2

Fully charged:

2892 to 4344 damage.

with 14 jewels:

2892*(1+9.8)=31233.6

4344*(1+9.8)=46915.2

31233.6 to 46915.2 dmg with 14 jewels.

Average damage when fully charged: 39074.4

Just multiply base damage by 12

It's 110% more spell damage per stage, but how many stages are there?

Don't you think the extra damage that shock would provide could be good enough to make a choice for lightning gems tho? or would it be better to use fire spells solely for the burn damage?

A 50% boost of damage would be better for bursting right?
Or would the burning damage outdo the 20k extra dps that shock could provide on something like spark?

The formula is still wrong.. If you have 100% increased damage, you have to multiply your base dmg by 2, not 1...

So its 438*(1+9,8)=4730

:)
