Storm on the Horizon Prophecy.

I can't speak for others, but I'm not playing this game to grind the hell out of the prison levels until I see them in my sleep... the random generator for this is too damn tough, either loosen it up or just get rid of the quest... every time I get presented with it, I seal it and trash it, it's simply not worth my time and it makes the game experience ABYSMAL.
I've done it twice and it hasn't been that bad. The second time I paid atention and found the poacher in the same room as Chatters if that helps.

Here's my advice on completing this prophecy as I and my friend had wasted some serious time trying to do this, and I have seen many other posts on forum about this too.

Idk if its a bug but it's probably intentional, as skewed spawn rates seem totally reasonable to me.

From what I observed, the chance of getting a rare brittle poacher is 0 unless brittle poacher packs are the 'staple' of the instance. How I come to this conclusion is that I consecutively created about 10 instances and just searched for the trial of ascendency in lower prison, because at the end of the trial you are guaranteed a rare monster. 10/10 times I got either a rare necro or a rare melee skeleton.

Then I recalled somebody on forum saying remake the instance until they are not a 'guest monster'. I assume this means that because a pack of normal archers always spawns with Chatters, also because a necromancer spawn always has additional undead.

Ok onto the method: remake instance and check in a small radius of the waypoint (maybe search one pack above the instance, one pack below), if you don`t encounter a pack of brittle poachers not including the ones that spawn with Chatters, then just reset the instance.

important: The packs will be entirely brittle poachers. Sometimes necros spawn, and accompanying them are zombies, melee skeletons, or brittle poachers, in these cases the brittle poachers will never be rare (unless you have another prophecy where killing a normal can raise them as a rare). Don't mistakenly do the instance when you see brittle poachers accompanying necros!

It usually takes more than 10 in my experience, but each zone shouldn`t take more than 30 seconds to check unless your load times are awful.
Alternatively if you are higher level and have the gems, bring a desecrate linked to spell echo and something to target corpses with, casting desecrate will tell you if there are poachers or not.

When you get an instance and notice hey there are a lot of brittle poachers, then start searching for the trial. if you are lucky you`ll just find a rare one on the way, else complete the trial and there is likely going to be a rare brittle poacher at the end.

Idk how guaranteed the guy at the end of the trial is to be a poacher, since every time I did this it worked (small sample size), but nevertheless it's probably the best method.

Just saying this cause in merciless the cost of sealing can be pretty harsh, and maybe you want to prep yourself for the other prophecy to upgrade your Storm Cloud to a The Tempest in case you get it and you don't like to trade :)

You can actually do the same strategy with lots of the quests:
I did it for undying incinerators in the crematorium (also seemingly low spawn rate in my experience), though rare mobs don't appear in merciless at the end of the trial i believe, but work for cruel and normal.

After four hours, I decided to check online for guides. Came across this and it certainly helped. I got my bow now.

There are at most, two different packs of monsters in Lower Prison. One with necro and one without. If the system decides to make a rare from each pack, in the pack with necro, the necro always gets picked to become the rare. So keep resetting instance until you find one where the necro-less pack are brittle poachers.

@biyte Thank You.

Decided it can't hurt to try this.
Went to every Trial of Ascendancy coming across at "The Prison".
4th "Trial" had a bunch of "Brittle Thieves" and one rare "Brittle Poacher".
Went back and checked out the rest of that particular "Prison" level, besides Chatters and his pack of "Brittle Poachers" nothing.
Not one other "Brittle Poacher" to be found, only "Brittle Thieves" and Necromancers
Conclusion to me, just spam "Trials" as fast as possible, and get lucky.

Ran thru Act1, went back got the prophecy completed in back of trail area first run going back. He's at end by spikes, where you portal back from.
Running Trials over and over is the fastests for sure. Made it in like... 4 runs.
