[2.3] CoC Assassin, Quill Rain - FrostBalls

1. This build is dedicated to new cold skills, i.e. Frostbolt & Vortex, and other synergistic cold skills.

2. This build utilizes 2 CoC attacks, so while it is quite fun jamming your fingers on the keyboard, it is not the fastest clear among CoC builds.

3. Build can start to kill things after normal lab... will need rather high hit rate and critical strike chance to work.

4. Quite cheap (on Prophecy) since Quill Rain is like 5chaos, other stuff are like 1-2chaos each or less. Except Tabula Rasa :p. Will still work with 4L.

5. Still work-in-progress at level 69, all constructive feedback welcomed. Due to high intelligence, will be pumping ES.

6. This is not possible without detailed guides that I have referenced before the launch of the Prophecy League. They are linked in the spoiler below.

1. The idea is to cover the screen with Frostbolt projectiles a.k.a. FrostBalls, and then let them all explode at your target. Think floating mines!

2. With sufficient AoE invested, we are able to do our CoC magic at arm's length without using FrostBalls as well. Talk about flexibiltiy!

3. There is strong reliance on power charges[7], some frenzy charges[5] and endurance charges[3] (only because Warlord's Mark is so good for leeching). More balls swirling around!

4. For defence, shall aim for high energy shield, Immortal Call and Frost Wall. Innately, we have cold damage to chill and critical cold to freeze. Unfortunately, for bossing, we'll rely mainly on our psycho-motor skills to hit-and-run.

TLDR: build spams balls and circular things on the screen, mostly icy blue in color.

CoC Damage
Barrage - Increased Critical Strikes - Cast on Critical Strike - Cold Penetration - Ice Nova - Vortex
* It is important to place Vortex after Ice Nova as it consumes FrostBalls, i.e. let the Ice Nova be casted first.
* Increased Critical Strikes can be replaced by damage/utility/skill gem once sufficient critical strike chance nodes are taken.
* Really, any skill gem can be replaced by maybe AoE skills since the passive tree supports them.
* Offence stats at 7 power charges and 4 frenzy charges:

5L: Barrage - Increased Critical Strikes - Cast on Critical Strike - Ice Nova - Vortex

Frenzy Charge Generator
Frenzy - Greater Multiple Projectiles - Curse on Hit - Warlord's Mark
* Leeching will work against all except curse immune mobs/bosses.

Defence
Cast When Damage Taken (low level) - Immortal Call - Increased Duration - Frost Wall
* When I get my bow 6-socketed, I may run another CWDT setup.

Auras & Golem
Purity of Ice, Discipline, Ice Golem
* Managed to tackle reflect mobs without killing myself with reflect spikes even without Immortal Call. Purity of Ice will be a much safer option compared to damage-enhancing ones as we progress to end-game content.

Shadow - Assassin

Unstable Infusion, Deadly Infusion, Ambush & Assassinate.

Normal - 40 maximum life - Help Oak
Cruel - Passive Point - Kill All
Merciless - Power Charge - Help Alira

1. Close Range: Frenzy from distance until full charges, walk up and spam main attack on target (barrage needs to hit).

2. Long Range: Frenzy from distance until full charges, generate Frostballs on a target (at least 2 waves, I prefer 3-5 waves since that covers the screen), spam main attack on target.

3. Hope to do a video soon but yeah, I'll need to figure out how.

* Hitting at point-blank will make FrostBalls spread. We want this for covering up the screen.

* Hitting far away from your character will make FrostBalls travel tightly. We want this for covering up targets with balls.

New league, basic methods. Grab 2 +20% elemental sceptres (Quartz Sceptres) and do that vendor recipe to get +1 to cold spells. 1 side Frostbolt - Added Cold - LMP. Other side Vortex - Added Cold - Elemental Focus. Using the skills on self-cast mode early on for levelling helps us to understand the skills' mechanics. There are of course faster ways of levelling but I find Frostbolt - LMP/GMP works like a charm for starters.
