These forums should have a built in translator for OPs and posts. For example much of this thread would be:

There is no "fixing" a clear speed meta because clearing shit fast is the byproduct of optimizing your character.
That's like saying how do you fix the "not dying" meta because everyone builds their character to not die, and it imbalances the game because they are doing something that is suppose to sometimes happen. |

" I think you've missed the point. Yeah, optimizing your character is going to happen, regardless of the state of the game. The problem (and yeah, it is a problem) is that the base speed of the game is simply ridiculous. Packs are too large, and their actions happen too quickly. It forces you into AOE-all-the-fucking-time (pack size) and doing it as fast as (un)humanly possible (monster attack speed). This all happened very gradually. The game used to have a very good pace, now you're pigeonholed into darting around the map like a frog on meth. Just hoping it gets dialed back, at some point. " Actualy packsize is important for geting map drops incase you didn't notice and for sustaining your charges and flask charges while moving through the map as for fast clearing and spamming movement skills well...If they're dead they cant hurt you and if they cant hit you they can't hurt you either.The basic issue here is that players lost confidence in the mechanics that the game has to offer for mitigating damage you take.Also clearing faster was bound to happen with ascendencies since most of those points are damage based and some very strong damage based ones. |

" How fast the base game is doesn't fix the "Clear speed meta" because every meta will be clear speed meta. It's rose tinted classes, the goal "back in the day" was to darting around the map like a frog. That's because it's the most optimized character possible. Every thing you mentioned suddenly didn't appear out of the blue once the game sped up a little bit, the only difference is (outside of ascends) back in the day everyone was poor, low leveled and the game was "harder". It gave it an illusion that the because the average person wasn't powerful enough to cleave the game that was the normal limit. Arbitrary deciding how much you decide the average person can achieve "how fast" is an opinion, it's not inherently broken because of the "meta" or something. Just because you slow down the game doesn't change the fact that everyone will play the fastest clear speed build or "slower" builds become more viable. Which what would a "meta" be.
