She's as gay as Dumbledore in the Harry Potter books. It's never stated explicitly in-canon but there are plenty of hints. Her bio even has the line "Long eschewing the company of men..."

Plus Merveil's seducing apparition in Cavern of Anger is of a woman, whereas it's the opposite sex for all other classes.

Being a lesbian or not deosn't matter, having short hairs neither, put on the lvl1 plate ( I guess this one is kinda obvious ) and look at hear, it's just ugly, that's the point ^^, it could just be a guy except the voice.
