I wonder if this is the artists' equivalent of "Can you just add a button that does X? It should only take 5 minutes."

I'd like to see unique-specific 3D art on the robes, but I'd like to see it done right. Just re-colouring an existing armour that doesn't look the same would result in people criticizing GGG as lazy. When they would eventually change it to have proper 3D art people would then complain that the old one was better (see: auras, helmets)... except now that you can skin transfer these people would be justified in complaining since they had spent money on expectations of the old (incomplete) art.

It's better for them to just do unique robe art properly the first time.

Sure, and rightfully so. I wonder how hard would it be to add a dye system to the game, can't remember I ever saw a comment from devs on that. My guess it would be either impossible or way too much work if you haven't planned for it from the start.

Dunno if I ever shared it, but this was the initial 2D artwork sent to me. I just asked for it to be darkened, but otherwise they did a great job with my description and source material.

Since sould mantke does not get much use I think it's fine as it is...

I think it should be more bulky in the middle, like a fat suit.
