Why does everyone say the economy is broken in standard ?
Why only 2 hours?
Since PoE is the "proving grounds of the mad overlord" (aka Talosians) then is is a natural and logical assertion that Standard is the "dumping grounds of the mad overlord" since all gear from temp leagues and races (except VOID) migrates to Standard. GGG is never going to make any changes on this as it's only the standard leagues where many extra stash tabs are needed to store our gear from other leagues. We all know that stash tabs are GGGs biggest selling mtx so of course they don't want to kill that. Sure we can vendor off a ton of gear that's not needed (and do), but it's hard for me to vendor uniques, even though there are only so many leveling uniques I'll ever be able to use. Not to mention that some low level uniques are god awful and don't have any value for use in any Normal build. But to sell off that which is a very rare drop just feels wrong for the way too many hours of time I have put into playing PoE. So we're hording a ton of gear and thus don't really need to buy anything jn Standard and selling is more or less a waste of time and is an extreme bore. So much chat channel garbage to filter through. ARGH!!! "You've got to grind, grind, grind at that grindstone..."
Necessity may be the mother of invention, but poor QoP in PoE is the father of frustration. The perfect solution to fix Trade Chat: www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/2247070 |

" here's my take on it: beginning players are slowly learning the game, and at some point realize they need better gear. but at that point in the game it doesn't drop. or craft... heck "crafting" actually makes their gear worse so they stop. thinking they are doing it wrong. so they farm more. learn more. get better at the game. but it still doesn't drop. more. better. stronger. smarter. faster reflexes. taking on tougher shit under-geared, and actually winning. nope. no loot for you. so they realize they need to trade for an upgrade if they want/need one. in Standard. where everything from toothpick to nuclear bomb is measured in Exalts, because it's the stuff accumulated from years of PoE combined. but they don't have Exalts. frustration. " this is just so utterly wrong - in standard you can pick up gear that will enable you to do pretty much everything in the game except maybe Uber for a few chaos. Maybe not at the speeds someone decked out in mirrored gear would, but you don't need that shit. Last edited by Randall#0850 on May 6, 2016, 12:51:12 PM

In general, it seems people who aren't playing Standard claim it's broken. Don't ask me why.
On the contrary, it's quite healthy I'd say. Once you weed out the opportunists who feel everything is worth multiple exalts, you'll find a pretty stable economy. | |
" I feel the exact same. I play temp leagues but still sells tons of shit in standard (and yeah having to switch toons back and forth between leagues is a pain in the ass). Sometimes i even feel like the economy is better in standard. Also i feel like in temp leagues players almost always play the current meta so theres a shit ton of decent gear that isn't used in meta builds that are very hard to sell but those sells pretty well in standard because standard players mostly dont care about meta they just want to have fun and try weird shits for try, for see and for know.
