Alternate Art Recipe

This is really an engaging game and so is the community playing it.
Wondering if GGG ever considered introducing a new kind or recipe to the game.
Would be fun if we could vendor a certain amount of the same unique item to get its alternate art version. Since lower level unique items seems to over abund at some point, I thought it could be an interesting way of putting them to good use.

I would love to have another way to get alternate art uniques. Unfortunately I don't think one will be implemented. The alt art is exclusive to race rewards. It is really the only reason we have to race. Once there is another way to get them then goodbye racing.

You might think that alt art is a lame reward for races, but not everyone does. If we are going to make suggestions then what is the suggestion for the new race reward? Currency didn't work.

This is a neat suggestion but it has not been fully thought out. If it was implemented then what is the reason GGG should spend time developing alternate art? To modify the economy of unique items? Many people have been complaining that unique items don't have 3D art already and now we are asking them to make alternate art for uniques just so they will be further behind in art development.

Right now they make alt art to get people to race and that works for some players. I will race in a season if I think the art looks cool and achievable for me. If its not I don't race.

Yes the alt art uniques should not be limited to standard, but this is not a new suggestion.

If we have a recipe and it is too easy to get, then alternate art will not be special at all. If it is too hard to get then it is something only the wealthy players will have, wealthy players already have access to these items through trade, so it changes nothing here. Alternate art now shows that you worked hard and earned something by competing against others, accessible to anyone who really wants it.

Racing needs a kick in the ass in general, but taking something away from racers rather than adding something doesn't seem like a great idea. Alt art is one of those rare oddities that GGG doesn't really get flak for, and rightfully so. It's a niche reward for a niche playerbase. Though I feel like those two niches don't always align as well as GGG may have hoped.

Me too. This alone would make me come back tomorrow.

I will be obviously biased (and in the minority) because I race a lot, but this would really piss me off.

I spent a lot of time getting some of the higher tier race rewards, for the sole purpose of having them for the 3d art. I am never going to sell them off, they are like cool trophies you can use.

They need to figure out how to do the cross league skin transfers, asynchronous races (so more people can get alternate art) and work on regular items 3d art first.

but GGG should give again as a reward the alternate art items of the older races and add 3d art to them, there are only a few of them in the hands of rich people which would never sell them if not for a massive overpriced price that no one can pay if not RMTers
and maybe create a new kind of set because demigod looks complete and it should not be given again as a reward imo since it's the most exclusive

as in perandus you can get legacy items, there should be another round of alt art items
