first of all ty all for the advice and the beautifull theoricrafting seems like all of you should be better and more experience than me so lets make this a little more specific :)
so lets say i spend most of my time on the right side of the tree and i will pick cladiators 2 pointer Painforged and the 4 pointer versatile combatant.... so should i get ir and stay pure armor ... go evasion or mix... also pls consider the fact that i am really interested into using double curse with poachers and enfeeble if needed |

I start using Block builds since Talisman league always with evasion, but just to get 75% Block chance to spells, with 45-50% chance to evade and 75% block chance you barely get hit by attacks and with 75% block chance to spells you can stand in front of Atziri and barely get hit from their spells.
I don't know how exactly works but I tested, every spell at you has 25% to hit you, that's a very low chance. Besides Block chance can block reflect, so if you are a caster and you have 75% block spells you have 75% to BLOCK YOUR OWN REFLECTED DAMAGE!!!; with this there is no need of high amount of leech or weird defense mechanics. Cast When Damage Taken + Immortal call + 75% chance to block and you are almost deathless. This setup makes you have 75% chance to block the reflect, if you have bad luck and the reflected hit isn't blocked immortal call will save you. Tested EDIT: to get that you will need some shit and spend some points to block: "This Is A Buff" (Bex_GGG august 30, 2016) Last edited by diegodgo87#3061 on Apr 19, 2016, 8:25:33 AM

@diegodgo87 - you don't need all those spell block uniques if you have gladiator versatile combatant node.
@papaj1m - Armour means you take less damage per hit. Evasion means you get hit less often. It's basically personal preference. Which one is better depends on the situation and what enemy is attacking you. Evasion and armour both have diminishing utility, so going hybrid seems like the best option, but then you won't get the full benefit from nodes or flask effects like an Iron Reflexes for full-evasion character would. " Unfortunately your analysis is not mathematically sound. Use some worked examples and you'll see that the 'free entropy reset' isn't magic. There's no special interaction between block and evasion that lets you evade more hits. The outcome is just the same as if there was no entropy at all, and evasion was unpredictable. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea: http://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/657756 Last edited by dudiobugtron#4663 on Apr 19, 2016, 8:45:53 AM

the simple form of the math would say they are both equal.
Im going to say something else and its purely on my opinions regarding defense, and that is that block is better with armour than evasion. What is armours big problem? You get hit all the time so you can be bursted down by medium damage rapid hits. Does block solve this? Yes. What is evasions big problem? When a single large hit gets through theres no damage reduction to stop it 1 shotting you. Does block solve this? No. I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

Full block characters are most susceptible to high spike damage in terms of dying, as such any ways of mitigating this damage is better than going for more evasive mitigation, like Snorkle mentioned.
