why not? it's only a game. why should vaals even have such a big downside? if vaals didn't prevent items from being modded by orbs then they would still be a risk to use since they can make an expensive unique item rare.
i almost never vaal items because it can ruin them, so why are vaals even in the game if many players don't even want to use them?

That doesn't even make sense. Why is anything in the game? How often do you use 2 handed swords? How often do you use claws? Do you want only items that you use in the game? Maybe many people don't use vaal gems. But many players do.
