We thought they were extinct even in CoC terms but here's one living and breathing SELF CAST ICE SPEAR user it is EXTRAORDINARY. Truly a remarkable Sigh!

I was trying this out on the lake but it was doing literally 20% of the dmg a random EK did :(

Actually, I saw a video of a Cleave build utilizing the bloodsplosion ability to increase AoE capabilities. It was clearing mid-tier maps fairly well.

" The point of Ice Spear is the high base crit chance and in particular the +600% crit chance in 2nd form. However, because it is useful for this, it has low damage to compensate. Also, because of 'crit creep' where high crit chance keeps getting easier and easier to achieve, its bonus power isn't even that great. Also its 1st form really sucks now. I think (like Freezing pulse and many other projectile spells) it's a relic of a time when shotgunning was a thing. ------------------------------------------------- PS: For ages I had a Power Siphon-CoC-GMP-Chain-Ice Spear build, which was really fun! Unfortunately, barrage with PCoC and spark or something gives better dps even for big mobs. Face it, all of your suggestions are worse than this idea:

" Theoretically, it can be insane if you always hit mobs within the 2nd from at max range or something with a certain (Specialized) build for that. Perma freeze 100% crit chance with that crit multi stacking. But that would be entirely too annoying for most people to constantly do and it's easier just to face blast stuff with spark. " It is very useful as 2nd skill for non-crit ele builds in combination with the Elemental Overload node. Link it to Increased Critical Strikes, cast it once into a group of enemies, the second form crits 95%, and you have 40% MORE damage for 8 seconds. If you are self-casting fire or lightning caster, it synergizes quite well with the Elemental Equilibrium node (which is quite near for an additional -50 resistance). Well, you can make anything work with creative use of Ascendancy classes. Ice Spear does seem to suck real bad in comparison to most other spells, though.
To stay ontopic, there's a completely viable lightning warp mine guide in the Shadow section and I'm pretty sure someone can use the Trickster's free casting / ms bonus or the Hierophant's stuff to make a viable lightnig warp totem build, so there's that. I'm also pretty sure a facebreaker shield charge with herald of ash - elemental proliferation and smoke mines to reset position is theoretically possible. Yesterday, I replaced cyclone with whirling blades in my coc cycloner just to fool around and it did clear packs at a somewhat acceptable pace. Didn't even have increased attack speed linked.
