Are there any Self Found Shadow builds?

Trap builds are probably the best selffound builds. You dont need to buy specific items and they get better the more time you invest.

Traps or shockwave crit totem - doable. Melee self-found shadow? It's theoretically possible but if you really, really know what you're doing. Wouldn't recommend it. PoE isn't really balanced around self-found playing and a melee shadow is among the most expensive, gear-dependent builds out there. Just the opposite of self-found friendly.

Edit: with the new Assassin class providing so much DPS, any crit spellcaster can do well because you just have the damage by default, but it'll be definitely on the squishy side.

I'm doing this and started w/o having any kind of currency in the new league. Works absolutely fantastic with crazy damage and the capability of doing all kinds of content
