[2.6] life Mjolner done right by Rico - Berserker version

Hi.. I just want to share my condolence with the people following this thread..

I'm a long-time POE player from the now extinct Garena server, and I was also planning on making a Mjolner Inquisitor for the 2.5 version.

I bought a 10ex 6L Kingsguard in Garena (yeah, I know, don't ask me about the price we have a different economy there), completed the Voll's card set, bought 4ex Legacy Surgeon Granite (yeah, I know), and Legacy Surgeon's Resist Flasks.

I also read A LOT about Life Mjolner builds for almost a month, understanding how the build works, background stories from RainbowNuke, to the powerful Fire Juggernaut builds, to this thread by Rico's, Savage's, and the "Science" guy.

I had used the PoePlanner website so many times for tweaking my skill trees,

and In the end I sort-of decided on my own build (Inquisitor with a slightly modified set of auras).

I think all of that just went down the drain.

I did a quick A4M and damage is absolute trash. Damage single target isn't only abit slower, it's effectively 60% less damage.

The only way you'll be doing a little better than 60% less damage is that if extra hits during discharge CD are giving you an extra charge or two.

I've done the math myself and even that is not significant at all.

That's 2 build guides, 3 lvl 90+ characters, and a build guide in the works that I'm having to abandon due to this change.

I know there's a lot of people upset about this and GGG is still quiet about the whole thing.

I dunno if there's anything we can do about it except asking for an explanation/reversion to the 2.4 CD until they give us something.

All right I did a quick test regarding my 2.4 Crit Inquisitor that I was planning to release and despite the nerf it performed better than I expected.

Passive skill tree used in the video (lvl 88):

Gear & gems used in the video:
------------------------------

Jewels just spell dmg and attack speed. HOWEVER Conqueror's Potency jewel must be used. This is very important as it will allow for 20%+ aura effectiveness to support lvl 23 puritys and boost that max resistances to fire and light.

More than that after taking life nodes that in totall allow for 5.2 - 5.3 k life a player should take flask node cluster in Witch area. This, together with Conqueror's Potency will allow for +8% resitances from flasks.

The next important step is to use Enfeeble via Blasphemy. Easier time vs bosses, helps to reduce penalty from healing via Kingsguard.

NEXT: I would aim for 5.5 - 6.0 APS to allow for more charges generated between Discharges (as zSavage mentioned) which shouldnt be a problem with decent jewels and Ascendancy node Instruments of Virtue. At the same time theres is a need to rise the total maximum number of charges to something like 5/6 at minimum.

Bandits:
-------------

Oak, Passive, Oak.

Stats screenshots:

Spoiler
Defence unflasked:

Defence flasked*:

NOTE: Im missing the flask cluster here which will alow for +2% to max resistances and +7% physical reduction.

Discharge DPU with just 4/5 charges:

Arc:

Controlled Destruction vs Elemental Focus in Mjolner:
-------------------------------------------------------

CD for map clearing, EF for bosses. Why? Because you will rarely shock red map bosses to benefit from it while EF will boost your chance to bypass their resistances and gives a bit more "MORE" dmg.

Repentance vs Voidbringer:
--------------------------------

Less DPS but more flask charges gained: Voidbringer.

More DPS but less flask charges gained: Repentance (recommended in 2.5)

Changes from 2.5:
-------------------------

Going Crit Inquisitor to compensate for DPS loss in 2.5 (60% less Discharge triggers, 60% less Arc triggers). This will raise Discharge DPU to 16-17k region with 4/5 charges and completely ignore enemy resistances on crit. Build can obtain 40-51% Discharge crit chance depending on gear/jewels.

More than that Inquisitor has an aura Ascendancy node called: Augury of Penitance that grants another "more" multiplier to builds dmg (nearby enemies take 16% increased dmg = 16% more dmg). It is not shown in tooltip and it is an aura so it benefits from aura effect nodes. So having 20% aura eff in total this means 19% MORE dmg. So your 16k tooltip becomes 19k real DMG per Discharge. At the same time this node gives a bit more elemental dmg protection (8% reduced ele dmg taken) which is also effected by aura eff nodes.

In result: DPS should be on pair with 2.4 build, while mantaining even better tankiness.

However I dont think that Im going to post full guide on this version. Theres one allready from zang reagarding Templar/Inquistior in the Templar forum that has it roots way before 2.4. And as we talked with zang in the other thread I know that he will be possibly willing to come back to it after Pathfinder nerf. So feel free to pm him, ask him, maybe link him to this post and my video. If he says "no" than I will post this one here as new seperated guide.

K Brothers. Nerf hits us hard. But the legacy remains. I switched to max-rolled Mjolner as well as most of gear. Std is way worse, obviously cuz of less discharge procs. Overall mapping I didn't noticed as much loss up to t14. Beyond so single targets are takin a while. So are bosses.

After I'm done with gloves in Breach, I'm back to Standard and will test few options. Rico, thx 4 tips!

Peace and good luck.

So I've managed to put together a Mjolner build that works quite decently in 2.5:

Great work Brother. Hand up for unique title 4U.

"Odinson Supporter" ;)

Atm I'm at my previous setup, it still handle quite nice :) I'm upgrading gems for EA Chieftain but Mjolner remains my main char :)

Have fun Brothers. Peace.

Maybe your one lol. I still farm Uber Lab and face tank Abaxton on t12 so pls... Nerf is not always rip wtf o.O

2.5 nerf is mostly visible as lower std output per second. In general mapping I do not see big difference. So in my case, longer boss/beyond fights is the price I can live with and I still enjoy this great Rico's build.

Peace
