[2.6] life Mjolner done right by Rico - Berserker version

For Scion check low life Thors Rainbownuke build by Tom94 / tackle70. Its very good build overall and well suited for a Scion.

yeah i got the rainbownuke but it doesnt use crits and seems a bit less tanky than this, dunno maybe just my newbie opinion and im wrong
I will upload video of some T13+ action in the evening so it will be visible how it does on end-game with hard mods.

I do own Rainbownuke build aswell and to be perfectly honest: both are good builds, my version is a bit more tanky but not on all fronts. Rainbownuke does more damage.

Less tanky / more tanky depends on a scenario you will find yourself in. I.E.: this (mine) version is better vs most sources of physical dmg except very big hits (Dominus slam, Malachai slam) where Rainbownuke performs somewhat similar. Rainbownuke is better vs all sources of cold dmg. Here's detailed info on how much dmg both builds can suck up flasked before going down:

*Assuming medium gear budget for Rainbownuke, so 7k es, +8% max res from puritys, +6% from flasks (except cold).

Fire damage: Rainbownuke: 79k, This: 106k
Cold damage: Rainbownuke: 46k, This: 30k
Lightning damage: Rainbownuke: 87k, This: 91k

Medium phys dmg hits (800 dmg): Rainbownuke: 12 hits, This: 26 hits
High phys dmg spikes (6k range): Rainbownuke: 1 hit (with ~35% ehp left), This: 1 hit (with ~36% ehp left).

So as you can see vs Academy boss, Crematorium boss, Atziri my version is better, vs Necropolis boss Rainbownuke is better. But both are perfeclty fine doing all of those bosses maybe except Academy where Rainbownuke struggles a bit.

Vs all blues and rares that deals physical dmg in that 700-1000 range (spikes from blue Goliaths, Undying Evangelists spells, Maws jumping at you etc) this version is better but on the other hand Rainbownuke with medium budget gear doesnt have much problems with them.

vs chaos damage both can be effective as far as you stack chaos dmg on gear. This version has slightly advantage due to having quite a bit of life regen underneath of all of that.

So yeah, overall it is more tanky than Rainbownuke except cold dmg sources.



The other fact that is important (even very important) is how fast build can heal up after taking damage. In that regard both are pretty much the same as far as you dont have Vinktars flask. With Vinktars flask Rainbownuke for that brief moment during flask effect can insta-heal from anything that cannot 1-shot it so this grants that "o shit" emergency button that my version doesnt have.
On the other hand my version does provide that "allways ready" surgeons flasks.

However my version is strictly optimised for Marauder/Juggernout. So advise to be given before you lvl up Marauder from sratch: wait for video, watch it in action and than decide that its worth doing or not.

After seeing the new unrelenting node for the juggernaut (every time you get an endurance, you instead get full endurance) do you think trying to go for max endurance charge could be a real possibility? I'm interested in hearing your thoughts, i'm actually rolling a LL mjolner, but i might consider to switch after the 2.3 will come out
Yes this one might be a game changer for the build. Way more healing/s (vis Kingsguard) and dmg with endurance charges in focus. Ofc Volls Devo is a must have with this. Going with Repentance gloves and fire pen in mjolner. I think that dmg output and healing wont be a problem, the problem will be hovewer to balance it in this way that it would have enough ehp and mitigation to prevent one-shots. But... considering you will have 7-8 endurance charges all the time (with 5+ aps molten I'm pretty sure this will be true even when bossing in-between discharges / boss attacks) maybe going full armour wont be needed any more... and those points might go to pure life. Will see. I'm definitely going to give it a shot.

+ 7.4k life gained/s on average vs Boss*


*(5.5 aps molten * 3 hits on average * 0.5 legacy Mjolner proc * 9 charges * 100), 4.4k with new Mjolner.


I'm seriously considering dropping all the armor nodes alongside grace and iron reflexes, putting all those points into life and relying only on perma 9 endu charges with fortify (and CWDT+IC). This way Anger or Haste might be introduced to the build.

Now one thing that came to my mind: this version cannot use Arc + LS as pack clearing skill effectively, so going with Cyclone instead to place that nukes in the middle of the packs.

Hey rico, do you mind giving me some feedback?

this is the tree I came up with for my life Mjolner:



It has a somewhat average defence with 200%+ armor and 200%+ life from the tree, 8 endurance charges, can run PoL, PoF, haste with the addition of 8 jewel slots to use elemental damage grand spectrums. Do you think it could be worth it to skip on all the attack speed the rare jewels could give us?
Also, will the life mjolner work with my passive? or i forgot tu put in something important?

The auras linked in that tree were a bit fucked up, i planned them with the alpha's owl in mind, plus a legacy saffel for another +5 max allres. Corrected the tree to include at least 20% efficiency, tho

If i got the math well enough that would be +6% from +20% eff purities, plus another 5% from shield and 1% max fire res, bringing the total to 87/86/86 without flasks.
I've been thinking to drop Purity of ice to replace it with Haste and a flammability or ele weakness with blasphemy, going a bit more damage oriented

Just one last question: i've been seeing around mjolner builds with the new juggernaut node going for discharge - fire pen - discharge, i know this is all theorycrafting, but what do you think on the matter? could it be a good improvement?

That need to be tested but idea looks promising. Clearly lightning strike is out of the business with that setup and need to be replaced with cyclone for pack clearing tho.
