I think that the term 'unique' is what's holding people from posting. Yeah, I can list games that have unique aspects but that still conform to some genre: Thief 1 & 2 (three doesn't really exist for me because it's not a Looking Glass game); Beyond Good and Evil; Sims when it first came out was rather unique, but people might not think it's a great game; someone already mentioned Mirror's Edge; Black and White is unique even tho I absolutely hate it etc.
Ico, SotC and Okami are unique games that I haven't played myself, but I've watched my friends play. On the MMO front, I'm currently playing a game called Glitch, which certainly has unique visuals, but while the gameplay is refreshing to me, it's a mix of aspects you recognise from other games. On the whole it is still unique enough for me to list here - certainly not a WoW clone. Split 'n' fork(lift)

Mirror's Edge was unique for me and before that it was Portal. Now a days Q.U.B.E. Guess I just find first person puzzle/platfomers unique :) Braid and Limbo were pretty unique too

guild wars 2 will be unique :D in terms of all the new systems they are puting in their mmo formula.

I love play hack'n slash, almost of them are unique, mainly those:

Unique MMO...
Myself and a friend absolutely DOMINATED a game called Goonzu a few years ago. Basically it looks like a cheesy game, and the combat looks terrible, but it had 'the best' and 'most complete' economic, political, and crafting system of any game I've played. It was the only game I've ever seen where a player could actually 'beat' the game and shut it down for everyone. We got powerful enough to do it, but chose to leave instead. I don't think these games are unique, but i would definitely like to see more games like these 2.
