unable to connect to login server / no news feed available

Greetings.

When run the non steam .exe it runs fine till i get to the login screen. I get a "no newsfeed found" writing in the news box and the "unable to connect to login server" message when i try to login.

So I had this issue before but usually restarting the game would fix it. Now it seems like that wont work anymore.

What i've done so far to try to fix this issue:
-> ran the .exe as admin
-> I disabled my Firewall and my Antivirus program (+ running the .exe as admin)
-> I restarted my modem (unpluged it, and let it sit for a while without power. Then restarted my pc and pluged it in again.)
-> Restarted the game about 25ish times. No Change (as expected)

PS: I dont have much knowledge of computers and networking, so not all of what i have done might make sense :)

So i was able to login today by starting the .exe then opening my webbrowser and imediatelly closing it again.
However i was left with a "no sound driver detected" issue, which i tried to solve via the " --swa" ending. Well, that didnt work and playing without sound really was not enjoyable so i decided to quit, until this problem gets adressed by a dev or someone with more experience.

I must also say that i wouldn't be happy with this solution, even if the sound worked. There must be a better way to solve this issue.

Still decided to post this, cause it might work for someone else and they might have no issue playing without sound...

Edit: I just started to play without sound... cant take it anymore =(

Same issue here. I am running gigabit internet through condointernet in the Seattle area. Win7x64. Modem and router setup are the same as I used to play before, just a new ISP. All other applications and internet appear to work fine including other online games. I have also performed the tasks described by the OP to no avail. Also of note, the gateway servers show no pings.

I have also confirmed that my laptop running windows 10 x64 is able to successfully login. I would prefer not to upgrade my desktop OS.

My WinMTR stats are below for reference (IP redacted, ask if you need it). I see nothing wrong with them. During this period I started path of exile multiple times all stating "Unable to connect to login server" and "News feed not available". I have no problem accessing the site directly through my web browser and logging in.

Still same problem

Same problem here.
I used TCPVIEW and the PAthOfExile.EXE doesn't even attempt to make a network connection.

I know you guys are busy with a lot of different stuff GGG but it would be nice to hear that you are atleast looking into this issue. Maybe even a date at which we can expect a fix?

I really love your game (otherwise i'd not be pushing this), but not being able to play / playing without sound and with a weird fix that feels just weird is not what i had in mind for this expantion.

Tried the -ns / --nosound option, failed to connect;
but i have the standard .exe file, setted the option
at the link.

Oddly enough, sound is still active, hehe.

I ve spotted 14 users with this problem so far.

PoE is the _only_ game i play, it would really
hurt if... i dont dare to think of...^^

edit:
after a 2nd start, the link with the --nosound
option worked. In sound option it stated
"Failed to initialise sound driver" in a friendly
red, and really there is no sound now.
