unable to connect to login server / no news feed available
By setting the option --login-port at least the
newsfeed arrives. But no connect to server; this is really possible only with --nosound. Tried ports 80, 443, 6112 (poe used this at an earlier attempt) and some random values. Continuing to try... |

Here is a few question for everyone. Do you have onboard NIC or a separate NIC? And while it matters not, did you check to make sure the drivers for said NICs are up to date? Then there's a question of if you have a router? If so, are there ports blocked on it by default or automatically? This is just a few things no one's mentioned in this thread that could cause blockages. Honestly the fact you blame GGG for this is pretty cheap. 99% connect just fine which means the other 1% kinda messed up somewheres. Also its always good to make sure your registry isn't fowled up too.

=Quick Solve=
I have used the --nopreload option while testing some ports. it proved out, that running poe with this as sole parameter fixes this issue. Sound is working, too! Currently playing a bit to test if its _really_ working. Win exe users: -Right click the poe link, select properties -at 'Target' put --nopreload after the path (<PoE-Dir>\PathOfExile.exe --nopreload) -hit OK, done Steam: Rex_the_Runt posted the solution with -ns, according to it it should be possible to set this option in the Steam Library. oh, finally...! |

I'm one of the people experiencing the problem with being unable to connect at the login screen ever since Perandus was released. I tried launching the game with no success over the course of the last few days. WinMTR results were perfectly fine.
I saw a few people mention typing --nosound (right click PoE shortcut, go to the end of the target field, type --nosound), and that worked. But obviously, there's no sound. It doesn't really make sense why I can't connect normally, or even why typing --nosound magically allows me to connect. |

--nopreload also works for me, and on the plus side, there's sound.

" THANK YOU THANK YOU!! I finally got it working but I do feel you need to put "the poe link in the START menu" I really didn't get "it" until you meant poe in the START menu. I first thought you meant the poe app or the shortcut. |
