So... Lightning Warp is Still Bugged Then?

Weird. Given definition of rubberbanding as "teleporting back where you shouldn't," I never experience rubberbanding with Lightning Warp on Lockstep with a stable connection.

I agree it's really disorienting to lack visuals on every other cast, but I feel like I am getting used to it. Makes the game feel like beta again, but eh, at least it works in terms of game tactics/numbers.

How does it fuck with the game completely? It works. It just doesn't show the graphic all the time. Isn't the fact that you end up where you clicked enough of a tipoff that you warped there?

the way it rubber bands is unplayable to use it as a move skill, that sudden jerk, not knowing up to that moment if the cast actually went off etc, its too much. Ive died on the other end of that jolting broken warp almost instantly before now and Im not at all convinced I saw every frame of me standing on the other end. To use it as a movement skill you are basically rubber banding your screen and missing a beat as you land literally all the time, every few seconds, its unplayable.

If they simply stopped lightning warp being automatic fire, ie if you hold down the button it cant recast a second time, you now have to spam tap to keep warping, that would be almost as good as fixing it because you cant then accidentally get jolted on an unintentional double cast as seems to happen to me endlessly.

Have you ever played Flicker Strike?

Mark just said in their replication of the issue it was a client graphic issue, but it still teleported correctly and did the damage correctly. Every other animation did NOT work though. I would say try given it another go and see what happens. See if what Mark just described is the real case or not. If you are in FACT rubberbanding, and no damage etc is occurring, submit a new bug report on it and attach a video of the rubberband.
It's really bad when you're trying to manually spam LW as a DPS Skill; you can't really know when you've finished the last cast, so it makes back-to-back casts hard to time.. :S

I was really hoping/looking forward to finally making a Self-Cast LW'r, but I guess it just wasn't in the cards.. :'(

PS. Wait, so it works correctly when NOT using Lockstep?!

Yes, actually.

There's still problems when you get in the 95-100% reduced duration zone, but given how difficult that is to pull off, it's almost a non-existent concern.
Just to add some bump: please fix!! It's so god damn annoying.

of course ive played flicker strike, I dont expect a random flicker strike every other time I try and use lightning warp, its an absolutely disorienting glitch that for me and for the casters in my guild is unplayable. Of course it works the way mark said, thats exactly the way I explained to them it was bugging out when I submitted a bug report for this nearly a year ago in 2.0 beta.

yep. My guild are crazy about arc, our favorite spell, when they all tried to make arcers in 2.0 it was just unanimous that lightning warp was literally unplayable as a movement skill. They actually switched back to predictive in order to play their arcers for a fair amount of time, but how can you deny lockstep forever? They were all just forced to sell their wands and sceptres, buy daggers and use whriling blades. then they realised they could fortify blades, now theyre all using blades fortify, purely because of this lightning warp issue.

I have arc builds, ek builds, all manner of stuff. I refuse to switch to daggers to use blades, I use blades on all my melees, I use it too much already. Im not using a substandard weapon base on a build and an attack movement skill that feels totally wrong. Theyve all been sitting there since 2.o wiating for GGG to get their finger out and fix this skill man, its retarded how long this has been left going on. I want to play proper casters again, fix it for goodness sake.

Esp at a time when they add fortify, what data do they have now on casters using fortify? No data at all that means anything because they fucked up the movement skill universal to an area as large as 'casters' forcing the vast majority of them to use melee movement skills. How this is a low priority thing is just beyond me, theyve fucked up the one spell that literally every single caster i have made in this game used non stop and they dont seem to give a shit, itll get changed, only been fucked for a year now, another year wont hurt right? Its only every spam spell build in the entire game I could ever conceive of playing thats effected after all.

did I mention this issue actually legitimately gets under my skin? Apology for the direct manner Im talking in but after 6 months of waiting for this fix it started really pissing me off, and that was what? 4 months ago? and their take is basically wouldnt hold your breath for the next 4 months... right...

I love all you people on the forums, we can disagree but still be friends and respect each other :)

It's a visual-only bug that only affects one skill, only in lockstep, and is extremely hard to pin down, and due to it's nature, is likely to be tough to fix correctly. That limits how much priority we can afford to give it. It will be fixed eventually.

Even if it only affects one skill, it's a mobility skill (one of 4 in the entire game,) which at least a quarter of builds use, or would want to use, that is broken...

I think it deserves a high priority.
