So will you update to a new Gem Links in the future? Maybe prioritize faster casting over spell echo, since this way will be easier to stack 20? And since there's no more need for Vaal Clarity/Haste, what links should put in Shield/Dagger?
And what about the skill tree? No more cast speed investment needed? I'm not sure how well can this build achieve max stacks.

I'll definitely test faster casting and see how it plays, although I have gotten used to echo granting two stacks per cast so it could be annoying having to click twice as often. We will see, it's debatable whether all the skill effect duration is needed but I will probably keep it because of the QoL it gives and the longer Vaal Haste. I would probably drop Vaal Clarity, I'll have to look over possible gems but I think the best one to compensate for the loss of single target damage would be Vaal Lightning Trap, 50% more damage against bosses should help.

I don't think the passive tree goes out of its way to get any cast speed so I probably won't change that, I never focused on cast speed because echo along with vaal haste has always been enough on its own to achieve max stacks for bosses and you don't need to get to max just for trash clearing.

Is it a good idea to use this build as a league starter?

I've started two leagues with this build and had no trouble gearing up and using self found gear until I really want to MF or push DPS. I usually race the first day of a league and last two leagues I was in top 100-200 by the 18 hour mark, but I can't do that this league sadly.

I'm still deciding on a build to play myself, all I know is that I want to stack curses.

i started last league doing MF with this build and it worked quite well. now i think it will be even faster for mapping with the bv changes. i mean you don't really want to keep many stacks up, just enough to run through packs. now they do more damage! bosses will probably be much harder, though. i think this build fits very well as a currency farmer for a much more expensive option (to farm uber lab/uber atziri/shaper) and i plan to do it again tomorrow. any chance you could update it to 2.4?

Most definitely, I am still debating whether I might play it again or not, but three leagues in a row might be a bit much - although I wanted to play Elementalist and that was nerfed.

The other build I am planning is probably going to be Essence Drain which seems a bit slower in clearing and boss killing, but should be safe using 2-3 curse auras, and if I get bored of ED I can try Frostbolt + Vortex with a tree that isn't too different, self cast poison Bladefall could also be an option.

There shouldn't be much change for 2.4, the only things I will test specifically is swapping Echo for Faster Casting, and seeing if the single target damage reduction is anything to worry about.

Do you still have your old char intact? I was going to play BV again to farm bosses. Just curious how the single target vs hard and high life bosses is, obviously the clearspeed got a buff for maps.

Yeah I still have them in standard - I am running in Essence league at the moment but I can swap over quickly and test the damage.

Edit: Managed to kill Wasteland Voll in like 2 seconds - so I'd say it's still viable!

Thanks for the quick update. Definitely rolling that tomorrow. Last league I had a phys to light path finder BV and it was crazy but flask uptime is annoying to keep over time.
