So everyone who ever vaaled gloves or helmet or boots and got the implicit that he/she wanted and now sees a better enchant comming out should be able to change those implicits they aimed for in the first place?
There are so many items that can not be changed to get the new stats from patch 2.2 .. not only mirrored stuff - same for uniques and medium value stuff that ppl use and vaaled. We all know items that can not be further enhanced will eventually "decay" over time as new things get added on top to the game. It happens to allmost all of us with the next patch. You just happen to have invested more on your "locked up" item than most ppl did. cya Deathtiny

" That's very mature of you to say. My input is that perhaps you can use this as a lesson going forward - if you have access to that kind of currency, save a chunk of it for when a new expansion comes out. That way you'll be ready to mirror the newest and best gear. |

" The lesson here is to never mirror anything at all. Everything, even fugly 300 exalt harbingers devalue over time as the game evolves. IGN: Arlianth

I personally will never play with mirrored gear I dont care how good it is, it feels like adding special mods to my character like people did on D3. I dont think players with Legacy items should be able to use them in competition if there was such a thing or use over powered mirrored items gotten from a time when things were easier to get and more powerful then they are now. Why should you be allowed to keep a mod on an item if they game designers feel its out of place in the game? You do know you dont own anything in this game no matter how much money you spend rigth? The character account and items are pixels and belong to the code of the game owners.

" Yes, it seems that the OP has a new perspective on this after all the feedback. I don't think the takeaway is 'never use a mirror', but rather understand that it has a 'half-life' of being the 100% best in slot item. While he petitions GGG to meet him halfway (likelihood slim), he can use this new perspective to understand that a mirror can buy him a BiS piece for 6-24 months, and to try to maximize his value with that in mind. |

I'm a bit miffed, but meh.
IMO it's never worth mirroring boots/gloves/helms unless they have legacy mods. These are worth mirroring, because there's a pretty good likelihood that nothing else will surpass them for MF, except for divined values to perfect. If I can clear at a decent rate without enchantments, then meh, it won't be a big deal. |
