I think I figured out the Scion Ascendancy class

I can see so many issues in being able to take 3 of the end-nodes by choice.

Right you are. The existing subclasses already makes some existing builds so absurdly powerful that there's almost bound to be balancing measures taken that we haven't heard of to prevent it from getting out of hand, but allowing people to pick 3 end-nodes would take that to a whole different level.

Here's an amusing combination for the ultimate regeneration tank, taking advantage of three of the classes individually having ascendancy skills that greatly improve regeneration.

Sanctify: 20% chance to create Consecrated Ground on Kill, lasting 3 seconds, 20% chance to create Consecrated Ground when Hit, lasting 3 seconds

Vile Bastion: 1% of Energy Shield Regenerated per second for each Enemy you've Killed in the past 4 seconds, Immune to Stun while on Full Energy Shield

Patient Reaper: 30% increased Damage over Time, 60% increased Life, Energy Shield and Mana Recovery if you've Killed an Enemy affected by your Damage Over Time in the past 4 seconds

My own current tank is moderate with 14.65% of ES regenerated per second... but kills things with poisoned fire damage. As it facetanks, Sanctify will always trigger in short order, resulting in 18.65% of the energy shield regenerated per second when there's nothing around to kill (e.g. solo bosses), a substantial improvement, and an astonishing 160%*18.65% = 29.84% base regeneration plus 160%*nOfEnemiesLast4Seconds when there are trash mobs around to kill (i.e. the vast majority of gameplay).

Say you were wiping out 7 enemies per 4 seconds (e.g. groups of moderately tough enemies, tank builds are not notoriously high-damage :p), it would regenerate 41.04% of the energy shield per second. (In my case that would be 5745 ES/s regeneration).

Blind guessing and rampant speculation now called "figuring out". Glad I'm dying soon (relatively). Anyone who wishes for immortality hasn't lived to see how times change.

From a little snippet in the last state of exile with Rory, scion gets one of the shadows sub passives and it something from the latest shadow reveal.

Going by that i'd say it was a safe bet that it'll be picking up something from each class

Dont know many that want to live forever though :) Death is inneventable.Speculation is bound by restricted fantasy.

When fantasy comes into play, things can get wild.People can mess up reality with fantasy. In reality Op,trys to bring his speculative fantasy into reality,by guessing something.I have sinned also.Tried to express my fantasy also.

Anyway.Rambling on gaming forums is also....dont know.Sometimes we cant judge on what we spent our time.
Bye bye desync!

Also, don't forget about so-called "science".
And worst change is putting almost all bosses in new version of maps into fucking small areas, where you can't kite well or dodge stuff. What a terrible idiot invented that I want say to him: dude flick you, seriously flick you very much.
I would say the ascendancy for the scion will be a class like all the other classes have and not copying anything from them.

It will be again 12 nodes, 6 notables and 6 path nodes, and setup similar to the assasin three main branches.

I guess one brench will be a strongly increased duration, that would support totem builds and srs or summon weapons scions. Maybe in this branch there will be also some general dot bonis and reduced skill cooldown duration

Another branch may be a defensive branch, that gives you increased regeneration, resistances and avoid status ailments and stun.

And a branch that may support your damage and increase your attribute points.

Those would give you some nice options for a class that are different from other ascendancy classes, are still strong and would still give you the option to develope a scion that still can do anything, but need a bit longer to reach stronger nodes.

Or it could be a really strange setup: 4 mainbranches with 2 path nodes and 1 notable node at each end of a branch.

But side note for any ggg member that watches this forum: It would be logical to make a symetric ascendancy skill path. But best you try not to make any kind of swastika as visual layout. Somehow all the ideas I had looked like a kind of swastika

I find your proposals boring, lacking in originality, and unworthy of the scion of an ancient lineage, and in consequence fine you all one (1) Vaal Orb, to be applied to your brains such that they'll be more in tune with GGG's design process.

And present (once again) my own proposal that, though arguably silly, overpowered, outrageous, not to say nearly criminally insane, at least does not lack flair:

The SCION's Ascendancy class is the Lady and it is, as GGG has stated, focused on tree mastery. My proposal takes that to its logical extreme and, perhaps, a bit beyond.

Sex appeal is a new defensive stat introduced with the Ascendancy expansion, to start with only available from the Scion's Ascendancy class and a handful of new uniques such as Alias' Chainmail Bikini and the Wondrous Leather Pantaloons.

The layout is two arms of two skills and two of four, for a total of 12 skills.

The first arm is the "Wonder Child" line. It focuses on tree optimization.

1: "Neurotic multitasking" – Gain 1% increased attack and cast speed for every 10 strength allocated in the tree; Gain 2% increased armour, energy shield, and evasion for every 10 dexterity allocated in the tree; Gain 2% increased attack damage and spell damage for every 10 intelligence allocated in the tree.

2: "Wonder Child" – internally referred to as "Queen of Bling" - Restores original Scion voice, doubles life and mana regeneration, and for every 16 basic passives, every 4 notable passives, every 2 jewel passives, and every keystone passive in the passive skill tree, gain a free jewel slot in the Ascendancy skill tree. The Scion has 50% less sex appeal.

The second arm is the "Tree Lover" line. It focuses on exploring the tree.

1: "Tree Hugger" – for every allocated notable or keystone, gain half the benefit of any adjacent unallocated passives.

2: "Dryad" – increases sex appeal by 50% and every jewel in the normal passive skill tree functions as the Intuitive Leap jewel in addition to its normal functionality.

The third arm is the "Chopper". It focuses on simplifying the tree by chopping it down.

1: "Exercise regimen" – Grants 25% increased life and mana and 5% increased sex appeal.

2: "Lumberjack" – Permanent Fortify and replaces default body armour graphics with a lumberjack vest artfully ripped open to expose a small portion of the Scion's chest. When taking damage the Scion builds Clothing Damage, which rips the vest and increases the portion shown. Clothing Damage disappears if the Scion goes 5 seconds without taking damage.

3: "Exercise regimen" – Grants 25% increased life and mana and 5% increased sex appeal.

4: "Pruned!" - You can destroy adjacent non-jewel passive nodes at the cost of two passive skill points each. For every skill node destroyed, gain 1% more life and mana if it was a basic passive, 2% more if it was a notable, and 5% more if it was a keystone. (Not Safe for Frequent Respeccing. Which part of "destroyed" did you fail to understand?)

The fourth and final arm is the "Stunner". It focuses on the Scion's huge tracts of land personality.

1: "The less you hide, the more you get" - Grants 10% increased armour, evasion, and energy shield and 1% increased sex appeal per 1% unblemished skin shown.

2: "Veteran Seamstress" - Mends the hole in the Scion's trousers, gives her a bath, and increases sex appeal by 25%. Reduces incoming damage from male humanoid enemies by sex appeal%.

3: "The less you hide, the more you get" - Grants 10% increased armour, evasion, and energy shield and 1% increased sex appeal per 1% unblemished skin shown.

4: "Enhanced Cleavage" – Hide the graphics of any worn body armour and increases cleavage by 25%.

For the munchkins out there, note that Ascendant Lumberjacks will occasionally sing, and that Enhanced Cleavage does work with Lumberjack, though the result is definitely Not Safe For Work. It appears they treat Enhanced Cleavage as a permanent 25% Clothing Damage bonus when Lumberjack has been picked.

On every difficulty, she doesn't gain 2 Ascendancy skill points like other classes, but she can simply pick 1 notable from any other Ascendancy class.

She is obliged to pick from 3 different character classes, e.g. Necromancer - Deadeye - Assassin, but not Necromancer - Deadeye - Pathfinder (2 times Ranger).

This way she can go crazy in combinations of all Ascendancy trees (tree mastery), but she cannot specialize in one certain Ascendancy or even character class, AND she misses out on 3 travelling nodes.

This would be without question the most overpowered class out of ANY of them. You could take Assassin's [+0.5% base crit per power charge], Occultist's [10% chance to gain power charge on crit, +1 powercharge] and the Herbalist's [All flasks have Surgeon's and Staunching] or Champion's [You have Fortify] and it would be better than any other ascendancy class possible. The combinations you could achieve with this are just stupid.
Basicly Scion is the best class in the game and it will stay like this untill further notice .
