This game broke my computer.

Runs the Graphics Card REALLY hot. Turned everything down.
I have an i5 with ati 5650.
It shut down my computer once because over overheating.

I thought i surely must have had the laptop unplugged and the battery died on me or something.

Happened a second time. Played the game again checked some temps sure enough this game
run my computer hotter than a frypan. Looked the problem up find a couple of other threads and see a few others have this same problem, particularly with ATI. See one thread saying something about if you have a browser open in the back it may raise temps.

Ive already posted in one thread about my issue and figure ill jsut put the game down till they optimize it a bit, but after reading the one about the browser i think to my self "did i have the browser in the back?". Play the game again against my better judgement. game overheats the computer and it restarts.

I notice this time when i log in some of the foreground stuff is blurry. Character portraits are blurry and my laptop is acting funny and i have some artificing on my desktop. Get into the game and it looks F-ED up. Try to redownload, same problems. try some other games... OH BOY, now when i play any game that has polygons they look strange and shattered. call sony support, lo and behold my graphics chip is fried.

My laptop is no longer under warranty and i cannot afford to buy a new one. no solution just a paper weight now. now the mods will lock this thread but ill post it else where. why? because this game is VERY dangerous atm till they fix this issue. Its a good game its fun and i hope they straighten it out but i cannot describe how sad i am that this has happened to me. I dont know what to do about my computer and i can only hope that maybe this post will prevent it from happening to someone else. Am i sure this game is what did it? Absolutely, it was the only game i played for 3 days and there are plenty of other people on the forums that can also agree this game has over heating problems. BEWARE and please check your temps while playing this game.
Just a quick google of the graphics card and it tells me that it is not a gaming card but a video card...distinguished between the use of ddr3(which you have) and gddr5.

Don't know why people are always surprised that laptops cant run stuff...unless you spend a thousand on one it's not likely to play stuff well and the longer you have it the more prone it is to overheating due to dust build u[

it ran heroes of newerth and gw2 just fine. it ran POE as well till poe overheated my laptop multiple times. i have never had a game shut my laptop down with overheating until i played this game. reguardless if its a laptop i should definately be able to play an ARPG without have to worry about it BREAKING my laptop. it was not a question of "will this run path of exhile" because it ran the game, now my laptop is broken because of it.

as many other users have already reported there is an issue with this game and over heating especially on ATI hardware. PERIOD.

*dunno what google you are using but i also googled it, guess what, its was made for gaming.

what was that about dd3(which i dont have)? yeh.. you were wrong my friend.

games like fear 2
gtaIV
COD 4.
Yeah.. games that use alot more resources than a 2d ARPG. And none of these would over heat my laptop and cause my computer to instantly crash.

A laptop is not meant for gaming. I play poe on a laptop and indeed it gets hot. So what did I do? I make sure to give it a rest when it does get hot as hell and also I bought a cooling fan to put under it so it does not overheat.

youre assuming i dont have a cooling fan? lol
my specs can more than enough to handle the game. i shouldnt have to worry about faulty programming breaking my hardware.
Misinformation.

Your laptop likely had insufficient cooling.

Application layer software will not cause damage to hardware correctly configured at and below the driver level.
Lol, everyone knows this game have serius optimization problems, especially with ati, so stop being so... skeptical and cocky. I hope the fix is near because there are some serius shit going on whith this graphics performance, looks like a 2005 game so this should work whith a lot more smoothness
Sorry for my english dudes! D:
This game burns my GTX 590. even with sli off, and i can play BF3 or D# for hours with sli on with no problem.
I've been playing windowed mode with the GPU temp showing in the corner.
I use a double fan for my laptop. It never gets hot or even warm and even if I play for 8+ hours straight. lol.
