Etup's Death - ''PK''

I was going to make a comment about how a weakness of Cyclone-CoC-Blade-Vortex-Discharge is that you can't see what's going on around your character only to realise that, on double-checking the video, he's not even using it when he runs into the slam.

And you can't even blame the person who put the Wither totem down since the boss moved next to it after it had been placed.

Side thought, would Etup have noticed the wind-up sound from the Vaal Slam if they hadn't been listening to music at the same time?

Come on boys, start some drama! Wretch vs Boem! I swear, someone said something uncomplimentary about both of your fashion senses during your late teens!

My fashion sense is much more studied now, it was pretty hideous in HS

Worst thing about streamers is the fans tbh.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.
Ofc. it was a PK, the other player got him killed by activating the vaal slam. Wouldnt have happened if solo.

Nothing intentional though.

Much like religions! Which is ironic, of course, considering some of them think they are Gods greatest gift!

Ha, I kid, of course.

Ahem.

Massive thanks to GGG for producing such a fun and engaging game, it has taken up faaaaaaar too much of my life over the last 5 years.

Best of luck in the future!

The lesson we can all learn from this incident:

In PoE, the very best bro-dealed gear is not enough to save a player from their lack of skill.

That is not really the definition of a PK if you accidently trigger an ability that has the potential to kill someone else if they do not move away.

But I admit, it's easier to milk people nowadays. Just depends on how you do it.

It is not easier nowadays due to streaming it just happens in plain sight. It is simply a lot more obvious.

It's just sad that people shove items and special deals up their asses just because they are popular streamers and they wanna be the "good samaritan" in front of all the viewers.

Well that is PR. If you do good thing you gotta do them in public, while you hide the bad things from others. But that is also not something new just again more visible. Just look at some charities big companies supported with a few dollars while they still are caught every so often in some very shady things. And that behavior basically goes down to humans being humans, so it is expected that you see that in streams as well.

"
Sure, but you're perhaps overlooking how much damn work successful streaming really is. Most of them earn the attention they get, and most of them should be listened to if they speak. They are authorities on the game.

Well there are two types. The ones that just got on the train really early and just benefit from being their before others and really good ones. When I sometimes check streams I wonder why people even watch that it is not really interesting but they simply had the benefit of providing something that was not there. Nowadays new streamers have a really hard time getting big since there is so much competition, which though means that those that have success are really good and enjoyable.

Eh, isn't the basic definition of a player kill (*PK*) when the other person deliberately does something to kill that player?

That doesn't seem to be what happened here. Human error, sure. But if there's no absolute proof this was a malicious act, I don't think it can be called 'PK'.

But at a larger perspective, there is a trend towards blaming others when possible with not just this game but gaming online overall. It's rare to see someone take personal responsibility, especially in a chaotic situation where you can't clearly tell who might be at fault.

Either way, shame about the loss.

this.
also admitting to a mistake while you're a very high ranked popular streamer and such...well...can't have that now can we?
