What can Scion do that stands out from the other classes?
|
Especially considering the Ascendancy update, where every class can specialize and cover all ground, leaving nothing for the Scion.
Also, side note, I hate how there isn't a generic class forum. It doesn't make sense to discuss the same build in 3+ different forums. |

She's just better at almost everything right now.
Good starting spot, jewels up the ass. No one even knows what her Ascendancy class is, kinda stupid to draw a conclusion without all the information. |

The Scion is better at travelling across the tree, since she can access vastly different portions without having to invest a lot of points.
She has access to a huge number of Jewel Slots fairly easily~ If your build doesn't need to travel much, or can take advantage of most of the nodes it would need to travel, then it's probably better to go one of the other classes. Can't comment on Ascendancy until it's out. Even the teased classes I can only take with a grain of salt. The general theme will stay the same, but the numbers are always able to be changed before release. |

Her starting nodes are weaker than the other classes, and her only strong point is jewels?
So like, a build based on jewels. Or builds that require you to literally bisect the tree. Any examples? |
|
" A large number of builds benefit from the Scion start because Jewels are just so amazing. Her relatively weak nodes at her start (not really that weak anyway) is more than compensated with the Jewel slots and that she can basically go where she wants. You also need to think about the alternatives: 1. Witch is strong for many builds 2. Shadow just has horrid surviviability issues via the tree, crit builds can easily go Scion to compensate then go to the Shadow area 3. Ranger got buffed recently, crazy good start 4. Duelist is meh, can always start from Scion to access Duelist area later for melee builds 5. Marauder is kinda meh as well, same deal with Duelist 6. Templar is meh, same deal with Duelist and Marauder |

They said it's tree-related
There's only so many things that can happen imo 0)something jewel related 1)something jewel node related 2)something node pathing related 3)something node radius related but not jewels 4)her own special mini-tree that is different than from all other ascendancy passives. Maybe even relating to the main tree. |

She can do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=htSJs50zBhA

Scion has access to AoE nodes, skill duration nodes, jewels, the scion life wheel and can optionally start with resists instead of say ele damage.
Honestly hard to beat her for skill duration based builds or life based builds considering how goddamned awful shadow and duelist starting are. IGN: Arlianth

Tilt her head quizzically.
If I like a game, it'll either be amazing later or awful forever. There's no in-between.
I am Path of Exile's biggest whale. Period. |

" Right, Rory said in the interview that his favorite ascendancy class is something 'not yet released because they have to implement some new manalishi on the passive tree first', that can only mean Scion and it will probably be something we haven't seen so far. Wish the armchair developers would go back to developing armchairs.
